Anyone call the admissions at either school and have any info? Dr. Silvia said LECOM-Erie will rank their list sometime in late June. Bradenton said they are looking at a "possibility" of 20-25 ppl taken of the list. Any other news is appreciated....this waiting sucks! 🙂

I was for some reason wailisted at erie and directly accepted at bradenton, so was sent a letter stating that i was no longer in consideration at erie since i had confirmed my matriculation at bradenton- so thats 1 waitlist spot that has opened up at erie. agreed- the waitlist is cruel and unusual punishment.

Well, I plan on calling them next week to decline my acceptance...one more spot that will be open...

Karina

When I called LECOM-B yesterday they told me that there were about 40 ppl on the alternate list (which I am currently on). I am on three other waitlists, so there is a good chance that I may withdraw from LECOM if I got in somewhere else first. Alternates should be very hopeful!

I am on the "alternate" list as well...is this the same as being on the waitlist? Admissions told me that they do not rank the alternate list, for whatever that is worth.

As far as I know, they are one in the same. The fact that they do not rank the list probably means that you can increase your chances by showing a lot of interest in going there.

I don't understand how LECOM can do this. If you pay for two application fees, then you should have the same chance of attending either school. Has this happened to anyone else? Was anyone accepted to both schools?

Both schools should keep their decisions separate. However I get the feeling that many of the people who make decisions for all of LECOM admissions are based in Erie. It is possible they try to push you one way or the other based on your preference to PBL or LBL. Unfortunately I am waitlisted at both, go figure. 🙂

i interviewed 4/22 and everyday im frantically going through the mail to see if anything has come for me.

nothing has arrived yet.

should i expect a thick/thin or big/small envelope?

My envelope was thin, and I was accepted to Bradenton. It took less than 10 days to get mine...but I don't know how far it is from there to where you are.. I'm in NC.

good luck!
Andrea

hey.. call bradenton and ask then for an update on the status of your application.... they are super nice people and if you are in, they will let you know over the phone... best of luck!

for regular admission or the waitlist?

The app review and interview process at Bradenton and Erie are totally separate. I just did better at the Bradenton interview i guess. I was more impressed with Bradenton, so that worked out just fine.

he acceptance envelope was small, but slightly thicker than a rejection or waitlist (multiple pages) and took about 2 weeks post interview to get. Bradenton people are also very nice and if a decision has been made, they'll tell you. I couldn't get a single straight answer from Erie. good luck!

So does anyone know if the May 15th deadline for dropping multiple acceptances apply at lecom? I was kinda under the impression that if it did, some of us would start getting pulled from the waitlist by the end of May... any thoughts?

I have called to admissions office a number of times. I get different responses each time. So what i am guessing is yes the may 15 day does apply, but it isn't set in stone. They are supposed to re-review the waitlist in a couple weeks (probably end of may into june). 🙂

I was placed on the alternate list but I have talked with many people at the other D.O. interviews and they all said they got put on the list. I have heard this from at least six others. It's at least good to know that some got accepted already. Wish me luck 🙂 Thanks for the advise to call the admissions office. I think I will do that tomorrow.

I just got a letter informing me that I am an alternate for the incoming class at LECOM-Erie, but little other details. I emailed the admissions office, and got a standard response saying they can't release how many are on the waitlist. The only thing I know is that they will eventually review everyone's app. and loosely rank by "high" "med" and "low" alternates. Does anyone have a better idea of how many are on the waiting list at Erie and how many typically get taken off the list? Any info would be great!

Will LECOM Erie let the alternates know if they are considered "high" "mid" or "low" alternates? That would be kinda nice to know. I also found out that when they make this "loose list", they will rank the top 15 they want to be notified first. I wrote another email to Melissa Stimmler, who has been pretty helpful. If anyone finds oout anything out, please post it!

For those of you waiting to hear from LECOM-Bradenton - I will be declining my acceptance and seat sometime around next week because I got into my city's DO school (CCOM). A seat will definitely be opening up for one of you on the alternate list! Good luck to everyone. 🙂

Thought I'd let everyone know that I called Lecom-B yesterday and they said they would start pulling people in from the alternate list "in about 2 weeks". I guess that'll give my mail center a break from me for about a week or so. 🙂

i got that "in about two weeks" crap about four weeks ago and again two weeks ago. I don't think the admissions office likes to tell the truth.

Lecom-bradenton alternate list has begun to move. They recently notified their "top 10" on their list. I guess i wasn't among them. 🙁

i heard they got 25 ppl on their alternate list not including the top 10.. i thought there would be more than 25..

i got a call today notifying me that i was at the top of the bradenton waitlist. 😀

hopefully, i'll get a call early next week.

hey! i just opened a spot today for lecom-b, so one of you guys will be very happy 🙂 good luck to you all...

Okay so should we pretty much assume that if we're not called, we're pretty much so far back on the list only a miracle would let us in? I just wish I knew where in the world I am on the list. This stinks when it comes to living situations.

mannn how many people are on this waitlist...this is crazy to not know what your chances are...

Aren't you going to PCOM babydoll?

Does anyone know if the Erie waitlist has moved at all like the Bradenton list? I know that they are doing pretty much the same type of thing, but unlike Bradenton, their admissions office is like a steel fort. I've contacted them numerous time, and they won't tell me anything. I just want to know where I'm at on the list so I can get a feel for where I'm at. If I'm at the end of the list, I can get my MCAT registration paid for and my AAMCOMAS sent in, but I don't want to shell out the money for those if I end up getting accepted. If anyone's heard anything, please share!
