hi!

I know i'm just a pre-med student, but i wanted to ask my question to current medical students to get any input. I have costochondritis and have seen several doctors..all whom have told me that I will grow out of it. But i'm 22 now and i'm not growing anymore! i still have shooting pains in my chest...so much so that i have to stop everything i'm doing because it hurts so bad to breath in. The pains happen fairly often and I'm tired of taking ibuprofen all the time and i was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions whether allopathic or osteopathic? Is there a specialist that may help? Thanks for you time! =) ..and best of luck finishing med school!

read the TOS for this website and the forums: we can't give you any medical advice here...besides, we're a bunch of medical students...you need to talk w/ your practicing physician so the two of you can come up w/ a plan together to tackle your ailment. best of luck.

Agreed, follow up with your doc if it is not getting better or if you have questions.
