Any News On PCOM?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was accepted about three weeks ago. Haven't made my decision yet between the schools I was accepted to. Have you interviewed there? I really liked it but it does have a big class size.

when did you interview?

I interviewed there on the 10 of August and my letter of acceptance is dated the 15 of August. Have you interviewed there yet? What did you think? I am really having a rough time deciding on where to go.

Let's see. First maddogdo says he/she was accepted three weeks ago, and then says accepted on August 15. Something doesn't quite add up! 🙄 🙄 🙄

I am also waiting to hear from PCOM. Does anyone know when do they stop interviewing, is it April? Also do they prefer in-state apps.? Thanks.

So, I got a my dates mixed up Nicknack and Ussdifant. It was October 10 and October 15. I don't think that you have to be so quick to be judgemental. I was not sitting at my computer with the second post and looking at my letter of invitation for interviewing and my letter of acceptance. So, take my comments for what they are worth. I was trying to add some insight to those of you awaiting correspondance from PCOM. My extreme apologies to you all. I am sorry that I am human and made a mistake.

To anyone who has interviewed/visited PCOM-- What are the schools pros/cons?? I have been accepted elsewhere and this is the only school- MD&DO I have heard nothing from. Are they really that far behind--I should say-- is it still really that early in the process for them? i did call and they said my app is complete but that is it. To anyone going....what made you want to go there? To anyone who got in and decided not to go...what made you not want to go there? Thanks!

Ditto to jhug's questions.

I interviewed at PCOM about 3 weeks ago. I haven't heard anything from them since. Does anyone have any insight into the school (strengths, weaknesses, quality of life, quality of education, etc., etc.)?

thanks!

bump....
sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm curious for some answers! 🙂

Just got the interview invite for January 7th

I got accepted. The letter sits nicely next to my rejection letter that I got from them in 1996 (I think I'm going to frame them). BTW, one of the greatest learning experiences I've ever had...

I interviewed at PCOM on December 6th and my acceptance letter was dated December 10th.

I loved the school. I was impressed with the facilities, the faculty, and especially the students.

The interview was very laid back and friendly. They just wanted to find out a little bit about me. No trick questions, no ethical scenarios. Definately know about osteopathic medicine and know the history of PCOM.

I posted my full response on www.interviewfeedback.com

Good luck!

I interviewed on 10/31/01 and have heard nothing, no acceptance, no rejection, no waitlist! I have since been accepted to, and will be attending, UMDNJSOM. I am really shocked that 6 weeks after my interview I have heard nothing.

UssDfiant,

If you haven't heard anything, you should consider contacting them by phone. I had the same problem two years ago after my interview, so I called to find out what the status of my application was. Fortunately, they faxed me a copy of my letter and then I went down to school the next day to drop off my deposit and fill out my paperwork. Actually, I am still waiting for my "official" acceptance letter (and I am a second year at PCOM).

Best of luck! 🙂

To what would you attribute the delay?? is it big class size, # of applicants, unorganized-- i am concerned because each day that passes i lose some of the desire to attend. W/O a good reason it seems a bit unprofessional. The big downer is that i am REALLY excited to see/have the chance to go there!

UssDfiant,
You should definitely call and ask them about your status...I just called today to ask some questions that I didn't get to ask on the day of the interview and the person I spoke with was very nice. Then she put me on hold and then told me that I had been accepted...she even read me my letter over the phone. I interviewed on 12/13 and the letter was dated 12/18! They are really fast. Maybe your letter got lost in the mail. 😀 🙂
