I fall into the category of "admitted"- I'm starting first year there in a month! If you have any questions that I'd be able to help you with, please let me know 😀

http://opto-girl.blogspot.com <--This is a blog written by a student at Pacific who just finished her first year. It gives a lot of insight into life as an optometry student in general, as well as specifics for Pacific. Every Sunday she answers questions people have sent to her, so you could give that a shot.

Congrats for being admitted! I'm a Canadian applicant and Pacific would be my first choice for US schools. My GPA is about 3.44 (not verified by optomcas yet). I haven't taken OAT yet.
Some weaknesses that I see in my supplemental application: I have only shadowed at one practice and my last 45 credits GPA is lower than my overall GPA. Do you think these are significant factors that could cause me to not be invited for an interview?

Thanks!

I have some personal questions I would like to ask to anyone that has been admitted, went, or goes to pacific 🙂

I am a current 3rd year - feel free to PM me if you have questions you don't want to post on here 🙂

I can't say if it would hinder you from getting invited for an interview but I highly recommend shadowing at more than one practice. I learned SO much from the different observations I had and I think it really helped reaffirm my decision to attend optometry school. I would also suggest making sure they are different types of practices (i.e. commercial, private practice, VA, etc.) because it shows you the different types of jobs that are out there.

Good luck!
