Hey everyone,

I wanted to know if any Pharm D students are applying to medical school or are already in medical school. I would like to hear your experiences. As well I would appreciate if anyone knows if some pharmacy courses would count as part of the BCMP average for purposes of AMCAS. Such as Medical Biochemistry, Medicinal chemistry etc. Thanks.

At my medical school their are several PharmD's in my class and they have to take all of the courses. I'm not sure if they will take pharmacology during the second year but of the ones I've talked to they seem to want to take it for an easy A.

you might want to watch out about posting this one, tupac... i posted a question about applying to DO school and i got publicly ripped apart for even PONDERING the question... a lot of people on this forum get offended when ur not posting anything about pharmacy school... ugghh, i dunno..

Hey we are all nice people here. As far as I can remember no body in this forum ever gor publicly ripped

very few, if any, of the Pharm.D. courses count towards the BCPM. kinetics=no, toxicology=no, biotech=no, therapeutics=no. not sure about medicinal chem...pharmacy schools still teach that?

I had two med chem courses during my first year and will have two more during my second year. The first course was an intro course, so we only had to memorize a few structures and metabolic pathways. The second course was focused on nucleotide containing drugs, mainly anticancer and antivirals. Year two has the actual courses Med Chem I and II.
