AMCAS states that it takes UP TO six weeks for your application to be verified.
I am taking a late July MCAT, to which I will get my results in Aug.

Is there any point of me spending 2 days to finish up my application to submit it ASAP vs. spreading it out over a week span?
Is it fair to assume as long as I have it done 2 weeks before my MCAT date, my score and my verified application can happen at the same time.

Submit your AMCAS soon since verification takes a long time, especially during peak period--once it's verified, all that's waiting is the MCAT score. When the score is released and uploaded, submit your complete application to the schools you wish to apply to. When I applied last year, verification was abnormally long during the peak period (almost 8 weeks), so I'd submit no later than the first week of July to be safe.

Note: in order for verification to occur, you will need all your transcripts sent (obviously) and you will need to select at least one medical school that you're "applying" to. Do not check ALL the schools you want to apply to because if you need to retake the MCAT, you will be considered a re-applicant at those schools. To avoid the possibility of being a re-applicant, select ONE school that you do not care about getting into. This could be a really random OOS school that only accepts in-state or a top school that you know you'll never get accepted to.

You still want to be verified soon because you will want access to secondaries from schools that only send them out to verified applicants. Ideally, you will want to submit your secondaries and be verified before your MCAT comes through so it's is the last piece of the puzzle before you are complete and ready for review...unless you are waiting to see what the score is?
