Any reccomendations for a good optho Atlas?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm an MS4 that matched into ophtho. A faculty member recommended "Ophthalmology: A Pocket Textbook Atlas" (2nd edition, G. Lang, published by Thieme - available on Amazon) which I think is awesome for a student on rotations or a beginning resident. It is compact with tons of full color pictures, diagrams and charts. However, it is a textbook-atlas not a pure atlas so if that's what you're looking for, I would highly recommend it.

There are tons and tons of great ophthalmology books out there. Are you looking for a straight up picture atlas? Or something to read to prep for residency?

If it's the former, Spalton's is a great atlas that you'll be find useful now, throughout your residency, and afterward. It's very nice b/c right next to the picture, it has little drawings of the exact same picture, that are very nicely labelled.

Kanski is more of a text than an atlas, but is has many great pictures, plus information in a very easy to learn format.

Thanks... but I am seeking an anatomical atlas that has clear drawings of the orbits, nerves, vessels etc which are relevant to optho... it would be great if its compact.

Try an atlas by Zide (Surgical Anatomy of the Orbit - with tissue dissections and pictures) or one by Dutton (Atlas of Clinical and Surgical Anatomy - drawings). May be hard to find/out of print but both very good.

Thanks very much for the help. They are both available at amazon.
