This question is mainly for residents: have any of you matched into a program where you thought you had a great "fit" based on the info given and impressions drawn from interview day, but then after matching there realized it wasn't what you expected?
When I interviewed at a program where I had done an away, I realized that the "face" they put on during interview day wasn't really an accurate portrayal of the program as I had experienced it and if I hadn't have rotated there, I wouldn't have known any better.
I ask because I'm trying to decide how heavily I should weigh this "fit" concept in making my rank list when it seems like the "fit" could be sometimes based on chance/white lies.
