Several people from the animal hospital I work for went skydiving for the first time (tandem, of course), so I felt so pressured into going that I went as well! Anyways, I highly recommend it. Since that first jump I'm saving up to become certified someday (you need 7 jumps to be certified, but each drop zone has their own rules I think). This extremely random thread is to simply encourage those who are thinking about it to go ahead and try it! In all honesty, you really feel like you are flying and it will be something that will be with you for a long time. Why not go next weekend?

I've wanted to skydive since I was 7 years old! But I have to wait until I'm 18 yet 🙁

After seeing all those movies about parachutes not opening or the string breaking, I've always been kind of scared about skydiving. I'm not a big risk taker lol. One thing I always have wanted to do since I was little, though, is hang glide. 🙂

Yeah! It's awesome!! I'd love to get certified, but that process is too expensive for my student pocket. I really want to go base jumping, but that requires a bit of previous skydiving experience. It's probably a good thing I don't have more money, keeps me from doing more silly things.

I'd recommend skydiving to everyone! Just about the coolest thing you'll ever do. Well, except getting into vet school of course 😉

The scariest part is signing the wavier, the rest is cake.

I am definitely thinking of doing it next summer. I am a little worried about the parachutes not opening (since, that happened to my brother-in-law. Luckily the back up parachute worked!).

I heard it is a rush like no other. Nothing in this world can inspire the same feeling! 👍

It is cheaper to learn skydiving through static line training at a club rather than a for profit center.

I started skydiving in college to blow off steam. Also enjoyed competitions and challenges. Relatively speaking, it is a safe sport as long as you learn the rules and follow them (most major injuries and deaths occur due to foolish decisions by people who let thier invincibility outweight thier training.) I don't skydive anymore (too many moves too many changes in my life) but I do SCUBA now and a lot of the skills I learned skydiving apply to SCUBA.

The regulations are pretty much the same and are very organized. USPA and NSA tend to me the major centers and there are three methods of learning: tandem (which I will never do), static line (how the military learns), and assisted (where the dive instructor jumps with you, and holds on to you until your under canopy, but you are NOT attached). Static line is the cheapest, then tandem, then assisted.

Enjoy! It is a great way to destress (by stressing in a very different way!)

I've never been skydiving, but last night I had a dream I did. Maybe it's a sign...😕

i went skydiving last september in vegas! what a rush! hang gliding is fun too! (did that in the outer banks). i'm also a SCUBA diver (since 1996).

After this application cycle, we all should jump out of a perfectly good airplane to clear our heads and de-stress!!!

I've never been sky diving, but this summer when I was in NZ I went bungy jumping in Queenstown (Nevis anyone??) Most awesome thing EVER!! Highly recommend it 🙂

I went in September with 2 other girls from the hospital I work at. It was the first time I had ever been in a plane. It was so much fun. We got the pictures and video done of it also. Definatly a must do.
