On my verbal I got a 7 on my diagnostic, 9 average on my practice tests, 10 on AAMC 11 3 days before the exam, and somehow ended up with a 6 on the real thing. I finished in time and didn't feel bad about it; I also got a T on the writing (combined 22 on the other 2 sections), I don't consider myself bad at reading or writing.

It could very well likely have been burnout or bad luck, but is there any point in rescoring? It's a computerized based test, which doesn't mean it's 100% prone from error, but I would imagine its error rate would be less than a paper MCAT. Have there ever been any success stories with rescoring CBTs?

There was a topic from one of the summer dates where many of the people in the topic posted low verbal scores. It might be one of the August ones, IIRC? I didn't follow-up on it after a while but from my last memory of it, somebody received a response regarding a rescore request and it didn't really change anything.

I think I remember reading about that as well last summer; I just want to hear if even one person has ever seen a difference, even if it was one point. I'm trying to figure out how a computer could make an error, because $55 is worth it even for one point

Considering the aamc frequents this site, I wouldn't post a rescore on here. There's a probability an examinee who gets a score change from a rescore would come back here to post it opening up a whole can of worms. It was pretty obvious no one in that 6/17 group was gonna get a score change. Heck, people were posting their correspondence with the AAMC on here. Is it possible that someone has had their test rescored and scored better? Quite possible. Did the person post on SDN to make everyone aware they were awaiting a rescore? Don't think so.
SDN is an open forum. Use some good judgement.
