ive applied already and no luck... i have now tried to up my application... anyone have any thoughts on it, or any schools to apply to that might accept me??

3.39 TOTAL gpa (254 hrs)

3.16 undergrad gpa (167 hrs)
3.85 post bacc gpa (87 hrs)

1st mcat score - 9/7/6 N
2nd mcat score - 13/10/11 P (i actually studied this time)

i have a ton of ECs, and can round up some LORs, but no research .... any thoughts... sorry to bore all of you with this... but id really like the help. thanks.

I think that with your improved GPA and MCAT scores you should fare just fine as long as you apply to a wide range of schools (especially in-state schools). Just make sure you can get good letters of recommendation from faculty or supervisors in your extracurriculars, and make sure that your improvement in all areas of your application since your last attempt is touched upon. Also, make sure to apply early! It seems as if that can make a real difference for many of us. Best of luck!

1. Make sure your essay doesn't suck
2. Pick out schools you have at least some vague connection to, as many as you could be considered competitive at, sorry, harvard looks dim
3. Send out your AMCAS application early. Like today if you haven't
4. Make sure you finish your secondaries fast.
5. Hope to hell you get any interview
6. When you do, tell them whatever they want to hear, don't be some a hole and say abortion is bad or i want to make money or avoid a question someone asks.
7. Find out if you can get a rejection interview at the admissions office of the schools you were not accepted to and see what they want you to change. You probable shouldn't take more classes, that would be redundant.
They interviews are usually done with the director of the admissions office.

I had to apply twice to get in... some of the best advice came from a Dir of Admissions who took the time to review my app and personal statment. See if you can connect with one of the schools to which you applied... or as in my case, to one of the schools you will be applying this time around.

Also, apply to a lot of schools. I honestly still feel as if there is an air of randomness to the process. I only applied to 10 schools the first time = 0 acceptances and 2 waitlists. Second time I applied to 34 schools = 3 acceptances. It was expensive, but now as a 4th year, totally worth it.
