any thoughts? thank you

I think Harvard might be a stretch in terms of your DAT scores. I know I'm not even applying with a 23 AA and 24 TS because I know my GPA won't cut it.

I mean, if you have the extra money to apply, then go for it. But personally I'd think it's a waste of $75.

Delete Nova. Throw in all Texas schools. You have no idea what a privilege it is to have a Texas residency. Your tuition is less than 1/2 of most dental schools in the country.

I heard that columbia is heavily a DAT school, just in case you did not know.
Not saying your DAT is bad, but this could be a factor in deciding whether to apply or not

what's wrong with nova for OP?

You would be sending Harvard a nice donation by applying there. Columbia's a stretch. I had higher stats and didn't hear a peep. YMMV. RC and BIO are two of the more important scores and your two scores are below average for all national matriculates. Those two scores of yours are about two standard deviations below that of Harvard and Columbia.

I think you have a good chance with the texas schools. They are established and cheap as a resident. Overall, you have a weird mix of schools. You seem to have these back up schools and then UPenn/Harvard/Columbia. I think you can fill in the gap by adding some more schools: UCSF, LLU, Western (I heard from my friend who attends Western DO that their D4s passed the part 2 board with 100% passing rate, the dean at the interview said that part 1 passing rate for the past 3 years have been ~97%), USC(if you included NYU...why not?), maybe UoP as well. University of Minnesota, UNLV, MWU-AZ/ILL. I'm not too sure how schools will view your RCT score of 17. But since your GPA is strong, my guess is you'll be fine.

By the way, the reading comprehension score had the highest correlation with dental school success compared to the other scores and GPA.

I have some insider info on Nova's clinics. I won't say much in an open forum. PM if you must know.

I suggested deleting Nova mainly because the op has stats to go to many other institutions that cost much less.

Really?
I would figure GPA would have higher correlation,
That's a surprise

You should take everything as a grain of salt on SDN. Always double-check what others post.

That post was based on my recalling a google search that I did a couple years ago. RC specifically had a strong correlation to NBDE scores back when it was numerical.

But you're right, sciGPA has a stronger correlation with dental school course performance.

Hey our stats were almost identical for TMDSAS I had a 3.7 and a 20AA and I got into TX! So maybe you should apply to less schools OOS (pending if you're a TX resident)

Hey when did you submit your application?

I submitted my app in late June but didn't get all my LORs in till late July/ beginning of August so I think that is when they submitted my app to the committee.
