You can apply as an international student but there's only a limited number of schools that will accept you. I know CCOM and DMU accept international students but they require a substantial amount of money in a savings account after you're accepted but before starting classes. CCOM I think requires 100K and DMU requires 50K. I'm not an international student but know a couple of people that are. :luck:

In general most private schools will take foreign students, but there are exceptions so you have to check with each school. There are few state schools that accept foreign students as well. As far as the loans go, you will most likely need a co-signer who is U.S. citizen or green card holder.

i applied and was accepted to three schools, none of which seemed to think that it was significant that i was not a u.s. citizen (cdn). neither was anything mentioned about a savings account. my loans will be from cdn and am banks.

If you don't mind me asking, which banks offered you loans? Also did you not need a co-signer?

Why would an international student go to DO school? Dont DO students have limited previledges in other countries? Do you plan to stay in the US?

Where exactly are you from? If you are Canadian with decent stats, you should not have any problem getting into one of the schools. Good luck.

MDs don't have full practice rights in all the countries either. It depends on country to country.
