Hey guys, does anyone know anything about UConn's gen surg residency program? Good or bad, how much do the fellows impact the resident numbers/ICU experience, is there any operative trauma, how do they do in fellowship placement? Thanks 😕
One of the cardiothoracic fellows my intern year was from UConn. He was a good guy and had great things to say about their program. They seemed to have trained him well.
I felt like it had a real family feel to it, a very supportive program. Most of the residents there ranked it highly. The UCONN students I know would be very happy to stay- mostly their biggest drawback is being single in Farmington.
i rotated there as a sub-i. they work a lot. Hartford hospital is BUSY and they get to do a lot of operating. There are a lot of residents there, and a fair amount of operative trauma, though they have trauma surg fellows, critical care fellows, and every other type of imaginable fellow there. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, I think there's enough to go around.
