Have they sent out rejection or waiting list letters?

Any updates on their wolverine access? Mine still says "application complete"

For those of you who have been accepted to michigan, do you see any updates on their portal system?

I called today to see what was up. Amanda told me they are still reviewing apps and making final decisions. So we could get a phone call anytime. Also, I think the wait list will be out by February, or something like that she said.

So have they not looked at all interviewers yet? I thought they looked at all the interviewers, make a decision, then send out acceptances. I didn't know they send our notifications as they review.
 
That's what I thought too so I'm not sure how their doing it. She did say they are still making offers though so I guess just be patient.
 
I emailed them basically asking if more acceptances will be given out in the next few days or if they are done for a while.. I was curious because I have deposits to put down at other schools if they aren't for a while.

She (patti) emailed me back saying i will not be recieving an acceptance to the university of michigan and will receive an official email in about a week. not even waitlisted.. flat out rejected. it blew my mind.

im MI resident and I thought my interview went well.. pretty pissed off about it

wow thats nuts man. Im thinking ill be in the same situation, I thought my interivews went well but who really knows.

If you log into Wolverine access and go to application status there is a new option called "view decision". The view decision link takes me to a page that says "Congratulations! You have been accepted to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry's entering class of 2012. You will receive a phone call from us and your official admission letter will be arriving shortly in the mail."

I also with you two, i think i may be in the same situation. I just dont understand MIchigan...😕

talked to Amanda today, and she said they are giving offers to students continuously until Feb.

That sounds right for Michigan from what I heard last year. But are they doing that "2 weeks wave acceptance cycle"?? or Are they calling people for acceptance as they make their decision? (does anyone know about this?)

That's what I am wondering. They don't really say much on how they make decisions.

According to last year's cycle, they updated their wolverine access on 12/15 for the second batch. So, if history repeats itself, we may have 1 week before we hear any news.

It seems like the history is repeating again!! since no one got a call this week?? Well good luck everyone.

Seems like the only people who got accepted mid-Dec are the ones who interviewed mid-Nov.

Does that mean anyone who interviewed earlier than that, and hasn't gotten an acceptance Dec 1 will mean a rejection/waitlist?

Hm.. at this point, who really knows?
I think I read in last year's thread that someone who interviewed in Oct got an acceptance in January.
But I could be wrong, I just kind of glanced over the thread.
 
I just checked my Wolverine today, and it says I'm rejected (I didn't receive an interview invitation). I don't know if its because my stats were low or due to the fact that I'm international and my application got complete near the end of October.
 
It looks like Michigan has been sending out their rejections to interviewed candidates also. There are 2 already listed on predents...
 
Can someone post a link to the wolverine portal, I cant find it.

I had my interview back in early October. I have not heard anything yet nor is there any update on my wolverine access page. So I don't really know where I stand either.
 
Hey everyone, I'm a current D1 here at U of M. I understand the anxiety many of you may have and completely available for questions you may have.

Michigan tends to do rolling admissions. Many of my classmates interviewed pre-December and only found out in January/February. One of my boys actually got in this past May and we started in June. Bottom line is don't worry and just be persistent as you can be with communication with admissions. Keep getting your name out there and something hopefully good will come out of it.

Any idea of what we should do if we haven't received an interview yet? I was complete back in August and haven't heard a peep since then.. no rejection no interview no anything. What do you suggest?

Just wait until the first deposit is due. Looks like there is going to be a fair amount of movement for Michigan this year.
 
It doesnt look like they sent out their second batch yet. I was hoping to hear from them before Christmas!!!!! but we may have to hold out until Jan when the first deposits are due.
I literally refreshed my wolverine access all day yesterday.
Still says: Application Complete.

You are not alone.... I was really hoping they send 2nd batch of acceptance yesterday too. Because last year they did 2 batches before January. You maybe right that, 2nd batch might be after first deposit is due but I am still hopeful next week.

I heard that they don't update the wolverine access until they made the call for acceptance. But since no one is saying "I am in at UMich" --> no 2nd batch yet which makes me feel a little better.....

I'm holding out hope too!!!

Their student calendar says that they are still taking finals till the 20th and it looks like they are on break till the 3rd of Jan. I'm assuming that if we dont hear from them by then, we wont have 'Michigan' news to share with our family during the holidays.

And I think according to last year (if it holds any credibility to this year's acceptances post dec1) they saw the update on their wolverine access before they had a phone call.

I hope we both hear good news from Michigan soon!!
 
Just spoke with Amanda, she said that they will be sending out acceptances sometime between now and February. She couldn't tell me an exact date but at least we know their time frame.
 
Michigan accepts 60% of their seats for interviews that are PRE-december 1...So anyone on th waitlist or with a post december interview has a great shot at getting accepted.

Also, they do not update the Wolverine Access page until AFTER they give you a call for acceptance.

Good luck to everyone on the waitlist I know it can be nerve racking I went through it last year. An anyone still interviewing should check out the interview feedback on SDN it is very helpful.

Thanks for the heads up in regards to the 60%.
So, does that mean for those of us that had pre-dec 1st interviews are out of luck?
I don't believe they've sent out their wait list yet.

I highly doubt they give out acceptance until ~ Jan. 5, 2012, just because of holiday season but again, I hope I am completely wrong. 😛

Plus they haven't even sent out acceptance for Nov.18 interview group yet since they were right before thanksgiving.
 
Hey everyone, just got accepted to Michigan!! I got the phone call at around 3:40 pm today! I interviewed Nov 18th. Very excited!
 
does anyone know when/where/how to send the deposit? in my feverish excitement, i totally channeled out everything amanda said over the phone. thanks! and yay everyone!!!!!!!!
 
congrats to everyone that has just gotten in! i'm excited to meet you all :]. you send the payment online, when you officially accept. It's all done through wolverine access!

Hey, does anybody know if Michigan still plans on extending interview invitations? Even to those that applied super early in the cycle? (or does not hearing anything from them at this point basically mean rejection?)
 
Interviewed in November, but haven't heard back yet.. anyone in the same boat? am i going to be on the alternate list?

same situation. about 70 seats have been filled.
 
Does anyone know about waiting list? I tried to find some info, but seems like there's none.
