Anybody here get accepted without any optometry work experience?

It appears that many students in pharmacy school were able to get in without any work experience in a pharmacy despite the schools saying that this is an important admissions criteria. I was wonder if the same was true of optometry schools, do a substantial number of students get in without any work experience in an optometry clinic.

Working with an optometrist is not a prerequisite for admissions, although many people do that (for some, it is how they become interested in the field). It is only necessary to "shadow" an optometrist (or two) to become familiar with the profession.
