The process was fairly quick. I was interviewed on Monday, Dec. 13th and received a phone call on the following Friday, Dec. 17th about my acceptance. I did my interview via phone btw.

My overall GPA is 3.06
Last 60 credit hours GPA is 3.3
Pre-req GPA is 3.3
GRE is 1000 writing is 3.0 :/

How about yours?

I recently had my interview for the NSU MOT 2011 program. I was very nervous and didn't feel very confident when I came out... they said they mail a letter stating either accepted, rejected, or hold. How come you got a phone call? Did you receive a letter as well? I am very nervous and have worked so hard for this moment! I really hope I get in!! Any pointers? And do you know what they base their acceptance on?

Hello I applied to NOVA. I have an interview coming up and I was just wondering how the interview went? Any tips/suggestions? I've only done one interview over the phone so far with Philadelphia Univ. but I'm doing NOVA's in person... any help would be great! Thanks!

Hey OTgirl!!

I got accepted to NOVA too! Have you started thinking about your housing situation? aka, renting on your own vs. living in campus housing?

Hey! Are you going to accept to Nova? I am still waiting on Rush (I've been wait listed so I am not sure what my rank is just yet, I'm also hoping to hear from Midwestern University, in Downers Grove, IL). So far I really think I will be attending Nova.. it's kind of scary because I am from Chicago and have lived here all my life and went to undergrad here.

As of right now, I think I want to live on campus because I don't know too much about the area and overall, financially it seems that would be the best option as opposed to living in an apt.

I am looking into Rolling Hills Building A. That's what the person on the phone told me because the Cultural Living Center is for continuing students.

What are your plans? Are you originally from FL or from around Ft. Lauderdale?

Hello guys! I was searching for some tips online because I also have an interview this March for NSU, and I found this forum really helpful.
OT girl, how is the interview? is it nerve wracking? I am from Illinois too and I am doing the phone interview as well, but I have never been good with interviews and I really really do want to get in. Or maybe I am just worrying too much.
Any advice is really appreciated. Thank you very much!🙂

AHHH I feel like I'm talking to a twin! haha I'm in the same spot as you.....I'm from Illinois and I'm still waiting to hear back from UIC, Midwestern, and Madison. I really would like to stay around here since it's hope but as of right now I"m heading to Nova 😳)

I'm thinking the same thing about housing...it seems as though monthly rent/utilities etc. would be far more expensive than going through the houseing process through school.

Which part of Chicago are you from? I live in the Northwest suburbs in Algonquin

I had my interview with NSU about a week ago and it went really well! I was super nervous because it was my first real interview but the interviewers were super nice and were really trying to get me to come there. They mainly asked questions about Why OT/Why NOVA etc. I'm just waiting to hear back now!

hey nova girls.

im gana be headed to Barry in the fall ! i too am trying to figure out my living situation. I know nova is a lil more north then barry but im willing to live just about wherever as long as its with a student haha. If anyone is looking for a roomate feel free to let me know 🙂

Hey! I found out last week I was accepted into NOVA, I still haven't heard from all schools yet, and as of now I am still deciding between UF and NOVA. But I would like to go to NOVA and I was looking into housing options also but theres so many to choose from! Do you know if Rolling Hills is an apartment style dorm or anything else about it? Thanks!

Hey girls!

I just got accepted into NOVA last week too! And USC! I'm having quite a bit of a hard time trying to decide which school to go to. USC has the reputation, but NOVA is cheaper and my boyfriend currently lives in Miami, FL and I live in California. Does anyone have any advice? I'm torn!

I know that Rolling Hills is for the new graduate students. and for re-occurring students. The Cultural Living Center is only for re-occurring students. Rolling Hills has 2 buildings. Building A is single bedroom/studio type bedrooms and I think Building C has both single and suite style rooms.

does anyone know the deadline for them to notify applicants on their decision? I spoke with them last week and they said they are still processing applications. I'm starting to think they've already made offers to who they want.

I think they can go until the first day of school. Don't worry, I am sure you will get a call soon, I gave up my spot just this morning. Hope you get it!

I received a call this afternoon asking to set up an interview date! I'm out of state and really want to make a good impression so I'm considering flying down for it. Any tips/suggestions from any of you that already interviewed??

Hi everyone,

I completed my bachelors degree at nova in psychology and today I interviewed for the MOT program (The interview went amazing) and I should expect to hear from them in two weeks. I am sure I deffinetely got accepted though. Fort Laduerdale is great, the weather is awesome. Idk if you guys want to live at Rolling hills I would recomend renting an appartment. Rolling Hills is so nice but its very expensive and I think you need your ID to go into your room and if you lose it is a whole process to get back in etc, etc. Also tips for the interview, deffinetely do it in person. Over the phone works too but in person makes a better impression overall. They ask you things like why OT why NSU, do you work well in groups. Give an example of problem solving, ethical things, etc. The people are really nice. Just be confident and relax have fun. They really just want to see who you are and if you have the kind of personality to be in the field. Good luck to everyone !

Hey!

You send you would recomend renting an appartment. I'm from Chicago and don't know the area too well. What neighborhoods or other renting recommendations to you have? Does NSU help students find roommates not living on campus?

I just got accepted into the program!! and Yeah there are a couple of good neighborhoods in the area. The best one is probably Sunforest since its right across the HPD building where we will be attending classes and its walking distance. It is a very safe neighborhood. However, a two bedroom is about 1200 a month or so. There are the Courtyards, again short distance from school. Valencia Village, etc. NSU does provide help finding roommates. I think you can find it in the housing tab (off campus) or something. I hope this helps!

Well, I recieved a letter (small envelope actually) which got me kinda nervous but I got accepted ! Did you interview yet ? I got the letter like in 7 or 8 business day after my interview. However, my situation is different because I am an international student and I have to start processing my visa right away so maybe that is why they sped up the process. Have you completed all of your requirements yet? like GRE Observations hours, prereqs?
