Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and I'm just wondering if there are any Pakistani out there who have applied to the US for dentistry (aka DDS and then onto dental licensure). If so what were your experiences and could you please give an overview on the process??

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Well it depends which stage of application you want help in. Nbdes , CAAPID , bench exam , interview. The whole application process is not as overwhelming as it seems as long as you handle everything step by step and wisely. Be specific and I'll try to answer your queries 🙂

When should you start the application procedure? -I am about to start my 4th year. And also how long will it be from when you apply for the nbde part 1 to actually taking the test? I heard you have to wait for a callback to take the exam? Sorry about all the questions but I dont know many people in the medical field who can help. Thanks in advance!

Id advise you to complete your housejob and then come here. If possible you can always give the exam earlier anytime.. I guess you have to wait for an eligibility letter from the JCNDE ppl.. Don't remember exactly but you can check on their website , call or email them for the exact procedure. It's better to gain some experience like in the form of your housejob and then come here. Everyone has a different experience but that's what I felt was right.
Which college are you from?

If you can take the Part 1 before your housejob it will be good. The part 1 covers basic sciences so it's better to finish that off as early as possible.
