I'm planning to do a 7 week one. However I don't have enough time to go through all 3 runs. What're you doing?

I'm a little frustrated. I feel as though 7 weeks isn't enough and this schedule is just crazy. I feel like I'm just jumping on the TAUS bandwagon bc I dot know what else to do. Any other alternatives?

Anyways So far I've completed 50% of Kaplan Qbank. So for targeted questions (I don't have Qbook), should I use UWorld or te remaining Kaplan Qbank questions?

While it'd be best to do UWorld completely random all the time I don't know if I should rely on Kaplan Qbank for targeted questions. Then again UWorld is "the best" and maybe I'd be losing out by not doing them random at first.

Another version of taus, which is more condensed, if buy a new qbank or use UW. take each subject and find the total # of questions, then divide it by 50. That gives you the number of days you'll probably spend on that subject. So do 50Q in the morning of that specific subject, then study that subject all day, and at night try to do 46UW on random.

I have a more detailed word document my friend sent me, who used that and did pretty well. I think it ended up being a 5 week program.

Hey Day man,

Do you have that doc still? I'm looking to do a shortened version of Taus as well. Like the OP, I feel the schedule is so tight. I have 7 weeks to study as well!

Realistically, how long does it take to do 50 questions AND reviewing each questions? My advisor suggested that I study 4 hours each day, with the rest of the time devoted to questions and review. Does that sound about right? I have about 2 weeks before I start studying.

Thanks!

To really go through the questions and answers takes a while, but you get much faster as you go along. I started out at almost 4 hours a block, and am now down to 2.5 hours. I do them on Tutor mode though (for me this makes it faster, for other people might be the opposite).

yea but, to sound stupid, how the hell do I post the thing on a forum from my computer HD? it comes down similar to the Penn method, which is a good plan as well. he didn't take as many nbmes/UWSA as alot've people here plan to but he went to a mediocre school and body slammed the test, for what that's worth.

as far as time, most people tell me block ~3hrs for 46-50 UW questions. RX (if you use that, or even kaplan assuming you're just using their 'bottom line') can take shorter, especially if you're familiar with FA (or are saying...really...that concept...again??). I haven't even started using UW 'hardcore' yet...that fun begins in May.

And what are you doing during the 2 weeks? You can turn one of your weaknesses into a strength in that time. I'd pick whatever subject you hate the most and start doing questions on tutor mode in one of the qbanks. Even if its 10-20 at a time you'll start to pick up what you need to learn.

I think you'll just have to PM me your email, or email me: steve.hand15Atgmaildotcom. let the spam begin!

Thanks for the pointers! I currently have Kaplan Q Bank, but will definitely get UWORLD when the real studying begins. Haven't started studying for the boards YET. Focusing on school as it is "studying" for the boards to a degree.

Thanks again!

PM sent!

I think one thing that'll help you is: on your first pass go through all of UW with Tutor mode. On the second pass through use timed, random of everything.

Also depending on how well you want to do, I would recommend a second qBank, so the fact that you have Kaplan is fine; use UW for learning, use Kaplan QBank for practice. I have Rx at the moment, but I'm not all that happy with it (some of the questions are downright ridiculous, and it'll say something like "2% got this right"... it's not because it's hard, it's because the question is extremely poorly written) so I'm probably going to buy the Kaplan question bank soon (I have about a month until I take Step 1).

Hi, I'm doing a modified version of TAUS. I started with RR Bioch, then CMMRS, then HY neuro. Now I'm reading each system first in BRS phisio, then I read the corresponding system in RR path. Then I listen to goljan lectures. I'm finishing this next week, then I start with reading a section on FA then doing the corresponding Qs in UW. Reading 3 times RR path is too low yield for me, I think its too big. If I finish doing UW along with FA by the middle of june I'll do then kaplan qbank always reading FA. Then in august and september I start with UW and FA again plus the NBMEs. I think that in 8 weeks I'm able to get through UW and FA 3 times. Maybe I'll read the other books again, we'll shall see, that depends on my UW scores.

My plan:

RR bioch 1 read
CMMRS 1 read
HY neuro 1 read
BRS phisio 1 read
RR path 1 read
goljan audio 2 rounds
FA + UW 4 rounds
kaplan qbank 1 round
All nbmes timed!

I think its pretty enough, but one can only tell when you have the result in hands.

Have until the end of september to do this. Do you think its enough?

i have 4 weeks to study so i am just going to do the last 2 weeks of taus but slightly modified.. giving myself 4 days for micro and 3 for neuro/psych and all others things pretty much as he has it laid out there. that should take me up to sunday before my thursday exam. Mon, tues will be review with wednesday being a light day... not sure what im going to do there yet.

Hey Day man, can you try attaching your word doc to a post? Just hit reply and then click on the paperclip icon to attach your document. I tried using your rapidshare link, but it seems like it limits to 10 downloads per day or something. Thanks for the advice so far.

This looks like such a great plan! Thanks for sharing 🙂

I am currently torn between organizing myself like this or doing DIT. Any body who frequents this particular thread have experience with DIT as it compares to a plan like this?

Either way though, thanks for uploading the word doc...
