I got a molecular bio degree in 2008.

Since then, I have had personal family and financial issues I have had to deal with that have prevented me from pursuing my science/medical goals. Eg, since graduation, I have done NOTHING related to science or medicine other than very recently, when I have started volunteering at hosptials (doing stuff with cancer patients) and shadowing.

My GPA was a cum 3.1 sci 3.1 .

I am studying my butt off for the MCAT now. I am doing Kaplan classroom and taking the test at the end of january. It is amazing how much stuff you forget after taking time off, but I am studying 8-10 hours/ day 6 days per week (my rents are kind enough to be supporting me financially).

I do have a TON of research and EC on my CV undergrad so the "filler" stuff is allready taken care of.

I want either a MD/PhD or DO/PhD.

I live in boston so I was thinking next year of doing the BU SMP program.

Was wondering if anyone on this board has done this or similar programs after taking a few years away from science classes. How hard is it to get "back in the swing" of things and how much stuff did you forget/remember? I am considering taking undergrad biochem next semester to prepare me for it.
