I'm really disappointed right now. I did bad on the pretest (got 88) and my naplex is one week away. I don't know if I should push my naplex back a couple more weeks or if I should just stick with it and study some more. I've been doing the rxprep book and on the quizzes I get at least an 80% or higher. Has anyone scored poorly on the pretest but still passed the naplex? Please share both scores. :scared:

Keep your test on the same day.

You still have a week left. So as long as you study every day for several hours from today until the exam, you should be fine. Use the pre-NAPLEX to identify what kind of topics were difficult for you, and also use that time to identify inefficiencies in your test-taking style. I didn't take the pre-NAPLEX, so I can't give you a score comparison. However, I studied for only a solid week (about 8 hours a day) before the exam, and I did fine. I don't consider myself to be particularly smart, so if you can put in the study time for the next week atop of your previous hard work, then you should be good.

Thanks Garfield. Yea I'm just gonna study really hard. One thing I did learn from the pretest is that I didnt read the questions carefully. Thanks everyone for sharing. It definitely makes me feel better.

Hey, I got an 85 on the prenaplex and scored a 102 on the real naplex. You should be fine! Just have confidence when you're taking the exam. And PAY ATTENTION TO UNITS while performing the math calculations, a lot of the time the information in the question will be in grams and the answer they will want in mg or things along those lines.

I would be thrilled with an 88 on my pre-naplex. My score: 55 🙁

This is after weeks and weeks of studying, and I don't know why I scored so poorly. There was one math question I couldn't answer, one stupid mistake, and a couple of drugs I had not heard of/didn't study.

Since then (Sunday morning), I have been studying around the clock to the best of my ability, but am afraid I cannot get that score out of my head. Even if I do score 10-20 points higher on the naplex, as some have experienced, I still fail.

Too late the change dates--it's tomorrow. Any advice on getting my self-confidence out of the toilet?

Crying and praying for a miracle here.

For Some people it's a good indication but for some it's not. My friend failed the pre-naplex right before the exam and he passed naplex. I took it twice the first time i got a 54 and second time i got a 100. The first time was herbals, and random stuff that I hadn't read about. Good luck on the exam and read the questions very carefully. Don't speed through the exam and remind your self during the exam to take deep breaths and just slow down.

I took naplex on sat and got the results today. I passed! I had VERY random questions about topics that I had never heard of. I had maybe a total of 10-15 questions on htn, hf, dm, hld, hiv, psychiatric, asthma/ copd, and more than 10 on cancer (which I didn't study bc I would have used that time to study other stuff). The rest of the exam was just all up in the air and guessed a lot and still passed. So don't worry and focus on Calculations. Before you go in the exam make sure you know RR, RRR, ARR, and NNT from biostats.

Focus on calculations, calculations are the key to the exam. A lot of the therapeutics questions were really easy that everyone should know, or very difficult that you probably wouldn't study this late in the process anyway. A solid math performance can swing your score a good 20-30 points IMO.

Hello,

I always visit this forum but never posted anything. I want to share my experience of naplex. My first prenaplex score a week before naplex (55:scared:), that scared me and I started studying like 12 hours a day. Three days before naplex (74:scared::idea:),, But didn't reschedule and studied like 17 hours a day and passed naplex with 100👍

I am glad that I took pre-naplex and realized my weak points and started focusing more on them. Naplex was actually easy compare to prenaplex.
:luck
