Anyone doing pre-IRTA at NIH?

I'm wondering if anyone will be working at the NIH during the 2004-2005 year. I'll be there.. working in the Autoimmunity Branch. I figure it might be nice to meet some other people who will be there as well.

I'll start in July, how bout you guys? I plan on living in Frederick, MD since that's where the lab I'll be working will be. I'm very excited! 🙂

I found a place to live in Bethesda.. so I'm pretty close to the campus. Where are you two going to be working?

I chose a position if Frederick, MD it's around 40 minutes NW of Bethesda. I was lucky to have housing provided for me until Labor day at these apartments called Sunset. I plan on visiting Bethesda often, for Pre-IRTA meetings and also it seems like lots of fun. I hear Frederick is more of a relaxed city, with lots of scenery, but might lack the night life from Bethesda.

How long do you guys plan on working at the NIH? I'll start in July and will definitely do one year, possibly two. Maybe we can set up lunch together, if you guys are interested. I'm hoping to make this year off as fun and rewarding as it can be!

I start on June 1st, and will be working until August 2005. I think it would be nice to get together at some point. I'll PM you to exchange more info.

Hey, I'll be doing a pre-IRTA fellowship as well, starting mid-June at NIDDK. I've been unsuccessful in the housing search as well, unfortunately...why is everything so expensive??? 🙂

I know, I had to do a lot of searching to find a good price. The only way you can find something cheap is if you are willing to live in a house with 4+ other people.
