The crazyness of finishing school, taking the mcats, and submitting to aacomas is over, and now I finally have too much time on my hands. I've taken a year long position that starts too soon to get another job and have some trips planned between now and then, but still have too much time to kill.

Anyone else feel suddenly like they have nothing to do? What have you found to fill the void? Unfortunately, mountain biking and wasting time on the computer (this falls under that category), just aren't filling the time.

yeah Im bored. But I should be studying my immunology course. LOL

If it makes you feel any better, the secondaries should start pouring in pretty soon, and then you can work on churning those out. They're not very fun, either.

If you really need something to do, check out the links on SDN to the various secondaries, and work on filling them out so that you have them ready to go as soon as they're available to you!

read NEJM, articles about healthcare in NYT and other major periodicals, and books that interest you. You'll have more stuff to talk about at interviews. Good luck,

If you're applying for osteopathic medical school, you should probably read Gevitz's, The D.O.s - Osteopathic Medicine in America. That should keep you busy for a couple of days and give you some good ammo for interviews.

I've developed a habit of playing around on Microsoft Flight Simulator as a way to break up the long periods of boredom associated with research

I already read the Gevitz book, certainly good advice. Thanks for the advice Stringerbell, you've motivated me to actually start secondary essays. I also just watched season one of the wire. That's one hell of a show. Season two should be coming in the mail sometime this week, can't wait. I fear I'm turning into a couch/computer potato, that's alright for a bit.

I hate this. I will have only one secondary to do (I am already a M.S. student at the school for which I am applying) but those won't be until summer classes are started. On top of that, I can't get any animals in until friday, so my thesis research has to wait. I guess cable is my only friend.😀
