I am looking for comments on e-prescribing and possible errors from computer input.
This happened the other night. MD orders Voltaren prn anxiety on a computer generated hard copy. I call up the MD and he apologizes, thinking he selected Valium.
So is anyone concerned about the new eprescibing being pushed and the possibility for errors? I know how many errors I made as an intern/tech while learning in selecting products - how many MD's are going to do the same, but will not be caught?

I have worked under electronic prescribing. It eliminates some errors but not all. You have to be on alert, as usual. What annoys me is when providers start writing for random crap because they see it pop up during a product search. One ER in my area keeps selecting enteric coated Naproxen, which hardly anyone here carries.
