Anyone else decide on UW for sure yet?

During the interview day, someone mentioned they were going to allow you to attempt to test out of certain first-year science courses? Did anyone else hear that? Does anyone know how that works?

Any D1's out there who have done that?

Hey Snoopdoug! Congrats on the acceptance! I was on your interview day with you if you remember....I was the one from OKlahoma..🙂
I ended up getting into UW 3 days after our interview....but I decided to decline my acceptance...I just didnt know if Seattle was the best place for me...🙂
But I just wanted to say congrats...I know how bad you wanted it! 👍

Thanks fleisch! Yeah, I remember you. You still waiting on Harvard? If so, good luck to you as well. Otherwise Oklahoma is a good choice too!

Snoupdoug,
Hey, I finally found this thread. At this point, it looks like we're the lone acceptances, although the gal I spoke with on the phone (not Kathy) said many of the spots are filled. Not all though, I also heard that they're interviewing the next six weeks. Can we get anyone else out there to join our thread? How could you not want to go to UW? (School pride coming out there, sorry).

Awesome! Thanks for joining me! I have a business degree as well. When did you get accepted? With those stats, I imagine you were accepted on December 1st.

Did you hear anything about being able to test out of the 1st year science courses?

Hey guys, I have also been accepted and sent in the deposit, but not yet sure if I'm going to UW. I do remember them saying you can test out of the classes. I supposed they will have to test sometime before anatomy starts in August. I am torn between UW (home) and UOP ($150,000 more, but given a $60,000 scholarship)...???

Tough choice, but congratulations on your acceptances and your scholarship. Let us know what you decide.

The funny thing is I interviewed on the first day (in October) and didn't hear until just yesterday. It may have been the fact that I took some of my science prereqs at Community colleges or maybe it was my interview (I felt ok about it at the time but regret some of the way I said things). Who knows? And I guess at this point, who cares?! I'm in and absolutely estatic! 😀

Angeee, I don't know much about UOP, but I've had a number of friends go through the UW program and all were very positive about it. Hope you join us!

I have heard nothing but good things about both schools, but I was very impressed with Pacific...they definitely have there stuff together down there! If I were rich and didn't care about my family...I would go there in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong...I love the UW too...it is home 🙂

Another thing you may want to think about is the state you want to practice in down the road. If it's Washington I think it would help to go to the UW since you will build up a number of contacts which can only help down the road.

Just bringing this post up to the top again to see if there are any new Huskies out there...

Good idea. We need our own thread like everyone else. Anyone else get accepted to UW recently and want to join us?

it looks like only us snoop...i know of a guy in one of my classes thats coming to uw next year so that makes three 🙂

3 + mkbloeser = 4. 4 out of a class of 55, not bad.

Actually, it's pretty sad. 🙁 you see these other threads with pages and pages of people going to a school. And we can only round up four people! I guess most people around the UW probably don't know about the SDN. I didn't until I interviewed at AZ... if it wasn't for that I would have never heard.

Angee, what classes are you taking?

I doubt that your CC classes had anything to do with your acceptance. When I was called in the morning of Dec. 1st, (right after 8am) I was told I was one of the very first acceptances. Reason why I bring this up is not to brag, but to let you know that I took ALL my pre-reqs from a CC including both Bios, both Physics, both OChems and both GenChems. Thus I doubt that your CC background had any negative considerations. Congratulations on your acceptance and good luck!!!!!!
