Hello everyone,
My name's Steve....I'm new to the forum and was just wondering if there were any other people from Indiana on here- especially other pre-dental majors. I am starting back to Indiana State University this summer to finish out my degree (three years to go) and was hoping to meet some people who are on the same career path as I am. It seems that there are a lot of pre-meds here on campus but I have yet to meet another pre-dental major.

I'm 24 and I have been out of school for a couple of years, courtesy of a stint in the US Air Force and then working as a respiratory therapist and echocardiographer. Anyone in the area who would like to chat, let me know.

Hi Steve -- Welcome to the Pre-Dent Forum! Jessica here, 21, from Muncie and I graduate from Ball State in May, B.S. in biochemistry. I'm not sure exactly where I'll be next year -- probably either IU Dent or IU Med. I was a music major most of my time in college and was attracted to the health professions late, and I still haven't completely made up my mind on dent or med. I think I'm positive with a decision one day, but then I'll later change my mind. I applied to both though, got in to several dent schools and am waiting to hear back from IU med (hopefully they'll send me a letter tomorrow -- they go out on the 15th of every month.) I applied to dent school early and med school late in the cycle, so we'll have to see how things go. All my siblings went to Rose-Hulman, so I'm pretty familiar with the "haute". Are you actually from Terre Haute, or are you just going to school there?

I'm Terre Haute born and (for the most part) raised. Good luck with your application...if you get into IU Med and wind up at the Terre Haute Center for Medical Education, you'll see a lot of me. I'm about to start as a research assistant with one of the professors there.

I am not from indiana, but I go to school in Indiana. I am a senior at Purdue U in West Lafayette and I am attending Case Western school of dental medicine next year.

Fort Wayne, Indiana. grew up there, but ended up goin to Ohio State. and im staying here for dental school. i havent been back to fort wayne in forever...
my dad got transfered to ohio, so i barely ever go back

Like Grinningrice, I too am from Chicago (no, not the "region")...the northern suburbs of the Chicagoland area. In any case, one of my best friends went to Rose Hulman...had he not gone there, I would have never heard of the school. His sister is graduating from there in June....He's a civil engineer...supposedly a great engineering school (he brags about their rankings). Nice campus but Terre Haute is a weird place. I went to IUB so I am pretty familiar with the great state of IN. If you end up at IUSD I will probably see you in July...good luck with getting into IU med school.

I'm not from Indiana, but I've been taking post-bacc classes at ISU for two years. I originally have a medical background too. I've been an EMT and a phlebotomist, have my 12-lead EKG cert...thought about being an EKG tech. There aren't very many pre-dents at all at ISU. I only know two others. I'm applying this year and don't plan on taking any other classes after this semester is over, but I wish you luck. The profs at ISU are pretty cool, you should do great. 👍

I'm also from northwest indiana (yes, the region), but I have some relatives in Terre Haute (Terry Hoot). 👍
