A big problem I will have for my application is that I won't seem interesting. I don't have any major and special experiences that will set me different from the average applicant. I don't even know what to put for 'my biggest challenge to over come' part of my personal statement.

I guess this is my fault. Anyone else in this situation? How did you overcome this obstacle, if you did.

Your life/application will seem interesting if you believe it to be so, regardless of whether or not it actually is. When writing your PS, get excited. Get excited about life, where youre going, what success will mean for you. Listen to music or watch vids that impassion you, if you cant bring it out that feeling on your own.

Im the same way as you, nothing major/special happened to me that I could write about in my PS. But I was motivated as f*ck to succeed and get into D school, and that energy easily translated into my PS. My word choice, syntax and basically the entire flow of my writing reeked of positive energy. During interviews, more than a few interviewers quoted one of my "catchphrases," as one interviewer called it with a big smile, that they liked and complimented me on my PS as a whole. I avoided cliches and let my creativity lead the way.

As for content write about why you think being a dentist would be right for you. Talk about your experiences while shadowing; anything interesting you may have talked about with a dentist. Research this forum for more ideas.

Glad you got into dental school this year!!!

Congrats, man. Pretty sure your DAT breakdown was the first I read personally.
Thanks man, looking back that was so long ago, it was a make it or break it moment for me. Glad my breakdown helped you and congrats on your acceptance as well.
