Anyone else not have UCSF secondary yet?

Does this pretty much mean I'm rejected? Their status page just says "AMCAS data received" since 8/20/04, and my file is under review to determine if I will get a secondary. It seems kind of late though, and I know they only send out ~1400 secondaries, so I'm wondering if they've all been sent already and they just haven't updated their website to reflect that I have been rejected pre-secondary. 🙁 I took the Aug MCAT, if that makes any difference (which it doesn't seem to, since others here have reported receiving a secondary before their scores were released). Any thoughts?

Don't give up hope yet. Unless you have super high stats, UCSF takes their sweet time. They got my AMCAS 7/29/04 and sent me my secondary 9/6/04. So it took well over a month for them to get it to me. You submitted three weeks after me, so wait a bit. And especially since you took August MCAT, they might want a more complete picture first. Not that many people got secs without MCAT scores.

Haven't heard a single thing from them or UCLA. I just keep waiting though. Some people still haven't heard from Davis.

Same here ... took the August MCAT, and heard from everyone I sent my AMCAS too (even Loyola, who screens), except UCLA and UCSF. I'm hoping they are just waiting on my scores!

even with mcat scores, ucsf can still take a while.
i waited 8 weeks before i got my secondary.
just be patient and don't lose hope

yah, i was an 8/20 and still waiting too; hopefully soon; i dunno tho, 1400 or so secondaries seems like alot especially since a majority go to cali residents. Now interviews are a diff story...

i agree... i posted the same thing when i got my secondary and saw that there were no essays... i don't think the LOR's are enough to justify the pointlessness of what they do.

I still haven't heard from them and they got my data on 8/6. It's been about 8 weeks for me from the 3-10 weeks they post.

bumpin this up cuz i'm wondering if those waiting for ucsf secondaries have had any changes in status.

i applied to 20 schools and this is the only one i still haven't heard from regarding a secondary....

I'm glad they screen anyway! I feel better about giving them my money. Also there is a nice essay for the joint program.

No secondary from UCSF doesn't mean you are rejected. I actually was rejected from UCSF a couple of weeks ago after they got my August scores - which were pretty good. At least the rejection letter was the nicest I've ever seen! I did get secondaries from UCLA, UCI, and UCSD in the past couple weeks, but not Davis.

I seem to be in the opposite boat as all of you. I got a UCSF secondary back in August, but haven't heard d*ck from any of the other UC's. They really do take their sweet ass time.

Just wanted to update this since the thread got bumped--I finally got a UCSF secondary 10/18, after Aug MCAT scores came out. I am not a cali resident. I sent it in on the 20th, and it did take a little while for them to update the status check site to show that they received it (it didn't say I was complete until 11/2). Good luck to all those still waiting! Now it says I will find out if I get an interview or not in 8 weeks, so more waiting in store for me too.
