Hey has anyone ever applied and got accepted Kean University or Seton Hall University in New Jersey? If so please list your stats. I haven't heard much information regarding either of their OT programs so please share any info you may have. Thanks guys!

Hey.. I just applied to Kean this week, mainly because it's really close to home. I don't expect to hear back from them until probably the end of February... When I was observing, one of the pediatric OTs I talked to had just graduated from Kean and she said it was okay and that she liked it.. not very informative lol... and another OT had graduated from Seton Hall and she just said that it was very rigorous, but I'm sure all programs are. She said that you "sign your life away and study all night," which we should already know going into this...

I'm going to apply to Seton Hall. The deadline is in march so there's plenty of time. Does anyone know if they receive large amounts of applications? tough competition there?

I received a phone call from the dean letting me know I have been accepted!

Edit: Oopps, To Seton Hall! Forgot to mention that

i was told from seton hall that the committee was still reviewing applications and they were sending out letters of notification at the end of this month. are you a current student? this is stressing me out because seton hall is my number one choice.

No I'm not a current student.

When did you speak to them? I received the call on the 14th, the dean mentioned that the acceptance letter w/ the info packets will arrive in a week or so. However I plan on rejecting their offer so I hope that helps in someway. My heart is set on NYU which is where I'll be attending, as a matter of fact I'll be registering for classes on the 27th 🙂 Good luck Speedyy12!!!

I emailed the secretary of the program a week ago and she told me that the committee is still reviewing and that she expects them to send out letters by the end of this month. I also got into two other programs - bay path college and american international university - and I really want to hear from seton hall. Since it is my number one choice, its going to determine where I am going to go. I really hope I get in. I'm so nervous!! =(

Speedyy12 I know it has been a year now but I am wondering which school you ended up going and if you remember what your stats were.thank you

Hi! I ended up at Seton Hall University. I believe my stats were 3.4 GPA, but i'm not sure about the pre-req classes since its been that long. All I know is that the grades were above a C. Are you still looking at Seton Hall or Kean?

I am actually looking at seton hall I applied so just waiting for a decision. How do you like it so far.

Do anyone know which of the 2 schools is "easier" to get in or takes the majority of their applicants?

I like the program. I'm in my 2nd year now. Its structured a bit differently than other programs regarding fieldwork but I think it has helped enhance my learning experience. Good luck!

I'm not sure. I know Seton Hall's program is competitive because the 3+3 students get the first priority if the have applied to the program during undergrad and maintained their GPA for a guaranteed seat. It all depends how many students there are. Kean is the same way I believe, but I'm not exactly sure I think they are a 4+2 program.

Speedyy12, how many applicants outside of their 3+3 program did they take when you applied?

17, so that left 17 spots left for the program. The maximum seats in our program is 35 students.

Seton Hall is in the town over from where I live and also ranking. since I live in NJ I heard great things about the program and how prepared the students were so I chose Seton Hall. it was my number 1 choice.

Hi everyone. This year I was accepted to Seton Hall but waitlisted to Kean. I feel like someone's chances are better at Seton Hall because I have heard that in order to get into Kean University it's kind of who you know. Not sure if that is true at all but since there was a forum on this I wanted to post what I heard.

Either way, in the fall I am going to Stockton because it's in NJ and it's cheaper than Seton Hall. Good luck to everyone!

Kean is very sketchy with their application process, they made a mistake on my application and it took them weeks to fix it. They have never once answered or returned any of my phone calls. It is all done by email. Plus from what I have done research on, they might loose their accreditation this year.

Hi. I just wanted to know of you got in to Kean. If so, how was their interview process and when did they notify you after the interview?

Hi.do you remember when SHU notified you of your acceptance?

Hi
What was your extracurricular activity?
Thanks

I applied to both Kean and Seton Hall for the Fall 2016 semester and got accepted in SHU. I am still waiting to hear from Kean, as they lost a recommendation letter that I literally handed to them, so, they are going to review my application next week. I hope I get accepted to Kean, but it's a stretch as I have not taken their mandatory Intro to OT course yet. I have heard pros and cons for both schools, but I'd prefer to go to the cheaper school (Kean).

The dean from SHU called me on Wednesday afternoon to tell me I was admitted. After a very torturous day at work, it was seriously the best news ever!

I had my interview with Kean two weeks ago and have not heard back /: I have a 3.8 as well... Seton hall said they will let everyone know by April 15... I hope I got into at least one program.. What time of day do they call ?

I received my call in the afternoon (from Seton Hall) and I heard from Kean immediately after my interview. Good luck!

I recently applied to Kean's new DPT program, had an interview, and was wait listed does anyone have any experience with being put on the wait list at Kean for their healthcare programs? I've been trying to get an idea of how they rank but haven't received much feedback when speaking to admissions.

Has anyone gotten accepted to Seton Hall with a C in a prerequisite course? (such as anatomy & physiology)

My prerequisite gpa is a 3.47 and my overall gpa is a 3.6.
