From what I hear it's a great place to do rotations. From a med student who rotated there:
"LIKE: Valley is an excellent exposure to medicine. You get to do a lot (paracentesis, thoracentesis, LP, chest compressions (I had my first code and did CPR on a person for the first time)) and you are the doctor for your patients. You get both bread and butter along with complicated, complex cases. My team was excellent about giving me a variety of interesting cases. The patients are also very appreciative, and I had patients bring me presents once they had been discharged. The phone translation system is amazing. Also, the instruction at Valley is the best at any site, and the attendings really put an emphasis on learning and doing.
DISLIKE: Medicine at Valley is quite long hours. The facilities are also not the best. It is also frustrating when some patients return over and over again. It is also all paper records, which is frustrating for daily notes. You also have less time for reading since you're so busy."
