Hi, i'm in the process of selecting my rotation sites for my 6th year and my school offers one in Tempe, AZ that deals with naturopathic medicine. However, I would have to go from the medical campus to the offsite clinic approximately 5 miles away. I heard that you DEFINITELY need a car to get around. Is this true? I'm originally from NYC and never really learned how to drive since i've never had to. I looked up public transportation in the phoenix area and i CAN potentially take the bus, but how reliable is that?

Thanks!

Yes you probably would need a car. There are busses, but I'm not sure if they would run where you need to go.

Here's the link to the bus system; it looks like they have route maps online

You'll definitely need a car. Phoenix is sprawling metropolitan area with horrible public transportation.

What site offers a naturopathic specialty????

If your rotation would fall between mid-April and mid-November, expect it to be exceedingly uncomfortably hot outside... especially while dressed in professional attire. Now think about sitting at a bus-stop for 15 minutes, waiting for a transfer, getting nice and swampy from the hyperhidrosis.....

....yep, get a car.
