I know this school is well known for business and arts...but how is it for sciences? Would it be a good school to consider if someone (aka me 😀) wants to go to a top ranked med school?

NYU has a great sciences programs but the school is not know for that. NYU also has a med school which is great, I do not know where it ranks though. According to US News, NYU is one of the best in the country.

I wouldn't say NYU would get you into a top med school. NYU is a good school but it isn't Harvard.

It is up to you. Undergrad institution plays a minor role at best. I have cousins in med school who just went to a state school and got in.

Just saying.

But, again, to answer the question: No, NYU won't get you into a top med school. Is it a good school? Hell yes. If you do UG there, make sure you take advantage of all the opportunities you are given. Ultimately, where you go to med school is up to you. I doubt UG makes much of a difference unless you attend an Ivy or something.

Any college will get you into any med school. It's up to you to make the grades and scores and accumulate the extracurricular credentials that will qualify you for the med school(s) you want to attend.

So...well, it's a good school...but it really depends on you, yourself, whether or not you can get into a top med school (well, that's true for any school I guess). But it has good opportunities?

Exactly. That is what I was trying to say.

i was accepted to their GSP CAS program last year (obviously couldnt go for the money)....They are strong in sciences, GSP isa little different because you go there for 2 years to "catch up" with all other nyu students, and then go to CAS (college arts and science).

They have fairly good departments, i have heard there chem department is really good. In terms of help, im sure they provide more resources than the average college or university, but ultimately some of there professors are good, some arent, its like that everywhere i suppose, some places more than others.
