I'm wondering if anyone's accepted at Mayo yet?

I interviewed 1-19 and waitlisted 1-25...not sure if i will get a spot...what do u guys think? They are not done with interviews yet (probably ~25 more interviewees)

I am definitely going. Mayo has been a top choice of mine from the start and once the dust settled from the interview trail, the gap in my mind between it and other institutions was enormous. Easy choice and I now have the benefit of using my second visit for further investigating labs for rotations, purchasing a townhouse, etc. As I am moving from the coast and working until almost the last second, the extra time allows for an easy transition.

As for what makes me or anyone else a successful applicant, I am not sure what I can tell you. Mayo and most other MSTPs seem to truly care about finding the best fit (number ****** are inevitable in any admissions process), both for the institution and the applicant. Once invited for an interview, comparing profiles is rather pointless--everyone is outstanding in his/her own way.

New York/Columbia here (although, in our interview group, that is not terribly limiting). You are in Michigan, right? If so, I sat to your immediate right both at the applicants-only dinner and the lunch at Broad St.
