so, about a month back I received a letter from Wake explaining that I was being put on the waitlist there. My first question to all you SDNers out there then is whether I should be excited about being waitlisted? Anyone know if Wake tends to waitlist all their interviewed applicants or was I one of the lucky ones? Also, I called Wake up a couple weeks ago and the lady there explained that the waitlist candidates are frequently reviewed and that movement off the list is possible at any time. I am curious to know though if anyone has gotten waitlisted and subsequently acceptanced at Wake so far this season?

I got waitlisted too, but will be withdrawing my app. Anyone who interviews will get waitlisted if they don't get accepted, so getting waitlisted doesn't mean much either way I don't think. The letter they sent me says that a large portion of the entering class is pulled off the waitlist and that you should keep in touch with them to express your interest in their school. .

i pulled my acceptance at wake so i hope this helps someone out! 🙂

I thought the director of admission said that they send out wailists acceptances and rejections after the intervew. Maybe I heard wrong 😕

i was waitlisted, but was accepted after only about a month on the actual waitlist (was accepted a few days before christmas).

there's lots of movement on wake' waitlist--be confident and feel free to write them a letter of interest, as they seem to respond to that (although i didn't write anything).

good luck,
sd

I am on the waitlist too. I was last year also. I don't think that they reject that many people because they assume that if they offered you an interview, you've got stats comparable to other accepted applicants (at least, that's why they said that the interview was blind). I think you'd have to really screw up the interview to get flat out rejected.

I do think I remember though, that Wake ends up accepting close to half the people it interviews, to fill the class.

I did go to school with a guy though, that got in off the waitlist last year. It wasn't until May though. Oh, and thanks LRmed2003.... hopefully that means I'm one spot closer.

Are alternate list and waitlist two different things for wake? I was just put in alternate list today. 😳

Yeah...i am on the waitlist as well...the MS i stayed with told me that its good news. Most of her classmates were waitlisted at some point as well. Following her advice, i sent letters to the school expressing my interest but its been a few months now and i have not heard anything. So just keeping my fingers crossed...

Posting to say that movement time is approaching. It sounds like a few people hear after 5/1 and a lot of people start hearing after 5/15.

So when you get off of a waitlist do you get a call or email or what? When would be the best time to call Wake Forest specifically, 5/1 or 5/15? According to past years, the waitlist started to move on 4/28.

try calling them; i believe they are one of the schools that i heard nothing from until i called them...then all of a sudden they were ready to set me up for an interview

I just got my letter from wake today saying I was in. Seeing as this was my last ray of hope, I will not be turning it down. But for those of you out there who are still on it, don't lose hope, it'll come. Keep calling and sending letters. Trust me, it helps. I have sent close to 15 letters and called 20 times this year. Good luck to all.

👍 👍 Congratulations! Wake is a fantastic school. Have fun in WS! 😀 😀

Very jealous, but congratulations nonetheless. I called yesterday and she said I was still on the WL and that it had begun to move a lot. She said movement will slow down in 4-6 weeks.

Congratulations chooxu!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I hope to be able to post with that same news someday!!

I know it's moving so...*bump*

If only Wake Forest weighed interested level expressed on SDN 🙁

Congrats btw chooxu, you might want to encourage people who get MCAT scores similar to yours come June.

Just called today they said there was a lot of movement on the list... good luck to all!

Yeah, that's what I've been getting too. *sigh* Hopefully it will move more after the 15th.
