Just curious if anyone will be going to SLU? If so, wondering what you're doing for housing and moving (if necessary). Thanks. Erik

moops,
just curious, which schools are you considering? where will you be moving from? maybe i'll see you at orientation.

Hi Redrocky, I'm going to SLU-- no idea yet on housing, but I'd like to find a roommate. What about you? Are you familiar with St. Louis? I've never been there, other than my interview!

Hi HoMuffin,
I will be moving from CA. My interview was my first visit to SL too. I found an apartment through Rent.com. It was more difficult to find a place because we have a 70lb dog. But the website was good. You can get $100 if you find a place through them. I work with a girl who grew up in SL, so she gave some tips on where to live. Good luck finding a place. Did you try the school housing web site? It seemed like there was info for finding a roommate. Hope you can find a roommate.

redrocky,

check your PM's (private messages).....i sent u one a couple days back but it looks like u havent read it yet....thanx....

hi all...

i'll be at slu this august too... i actually just got back from st. louis... i went apartment hunting... i checked out around 10 different places and ended up choosing a 1 bedroom at The Congress (part of West End City Apartments) in the central west end.

i also looked the chase plaza apartments, brentwood forest, the congress west, debavilere place, a couple of privately owned places in clayton and university city.

does anyone know anything about cellular coverage in st. louis? Im currently with AT&T wireless (TDMA not GSM coverage) and was wondering if they are pretty good in st. louis or if there is a better company.

I just got the call from SLU this morning, so I'll probably be there, since Loyola doesn't seem to be moving at all. I'm from St. Louis, so I have plenty of time to find an apartment still.

My brother has AT&T, and he doesn't get reception very well in our house. But I have no clue how it is in the city.

I've had Cingular for a few years now and have not had any problems. I think it's cut out on me maybe once the entire time. Some of my friends with Sprint have a lot of issues with losing a signal indoors. I'd recommend Cingular, if you go to the one in Galleria, the mall in Clayton, the guy actually knows completely what he's talking about (sold me a cheaper phone cause he said it was better...that's a first!)

Hope you guys are happy about SLU. I interviewed there and thought it was an awesome school except the price! I was put on the waitlist and then rejected about 2 wks after that??? Anyway, best of luck to you guys that are SLU bound.

The Student Affairs office has a list of students looking for roommates. If you call the office, they'll email you a copy of the list.
