Anyone got UCSF secondary recently?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone got an invite to fill the UCSF secondary recently. They received my verified application on 8/13/04. I know on the site it says 3-10 weeks processing time, but I am getting worried that the longer processing time is for those who are gonna get a rejection in the mail I didn't think they would reject me this early. So it would be good to know if anyone got their invite recently or after 5 weeks or so. Those who did get theirs, how long on average does it take them?

BTW, I applied MD/PhD. I don't know if that makes any difference.

I got it this Monday. THey take a while though. They got my AMCAS on 7/29/04 two weeks before yours. So wait it out. Once you get it, its pretty straightforward, no essays.

Thanks man, I was starting to get really worried. I think I have checked their site twice every day 😳 I hope to hear something soon. But it's good to know that they haven't wrapped up their secondary pool and are still sending out invites.

i don't know how often they update their site....or at least they don't for rejections i guess, i got rejected and on the site it still says their generic "application recieved and under review" or however they word it

hey uproarhz, I am in the same boat as you. They received my stuff on Aug 13 and have not contacted me yet about secondary. The problem is I already sent them my letters of rec because I thought by the time my letter of reference service processes my request and sends out the letter (usually a 3-4 week process), I would have been approved for secondary. Well, I think my letters got to them at the beginning of this week and as is their policy I am sure they were 'destroyed' and I will have to send the letters all over again. bastards

sorry!!! 🙁 I was tempted to do that too, but I somehow decided not too. I really don't know how they screen. When I was applying I really didn't think I would get any rejections this early in the game (I think I at least look decent enough to get the chance at a secondary, you know??!). But now, I don't know... they are the only school left. They are really one of my top choices so I would be really dissapointed if I don't get a secondary. I seriously think I would call them up and appeal it or something. I don't even know if you can do that, but hey... I would give it a try if I don't get anything.

So for now, I wish us all luck, cross my fingers, do whatever I can which is pretty much nothing

Be patient with UCSF, they can take a long time screening for secondaries.
I waited 8 weeks for a secondary.

Thanks for the posting. Yeah, all I can do is be patient. It's good that at least it's appliaction isn't very long.
