The Step 1 tables I have seen really do not cover dosing and contraindication as well as I like. Has anyone come up with a quick cheat sheet (Table or doc) they would like to share for Step II ... Thanks!

MTB 2 does a decent job in the ID chapter. As mentioned above, forget dosing. Route (and sometimes frequency) is important though.

I'm told that route, frequency, and sometimes relative strength dosing is important. But I didn't have more than a couple of questions on antibiotics on my CK.

Thanks for the posts ... I assume this would go for all drugs on Step 2 then ...

How about Contraindications and Side effects ... Would that be covered more in Step 3?

I looked at MTB and it is short and sweet ...

There are only so many tested contraindications and side effects to the antibiotics, and they're usually obvious (allergy, renal/hepatic failure, interactions, etc.). Maybe go back to Step 1 if you want to go over adverse effects?

Use the Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy. They have a good app with charts showing what bugs are susceptible to what ABX.
