I was just wondering if anyone has heard from Creighton about interview invites recently. I know they started sending out invites, but I haven't seen anyone post that they've gotten one recently. I just ask because I confirmed my application was complete with them around 2-3 weeks ago. I hope to hear from them soon!!!

i got an interview invite a few weeks ago.

I didn't even know that Creighton was doing formal invites. Before you had to invite yourself. Apparently they changed their minds about admissions processes?

I havent heard from them either. I am getting nervous how everyone already have their invites for interviews and i still havent received anything yet. 🙁

WHAT?

Yeah, they never had "formal" invitations. Two years ago (the first time I applied) you had to call them up yourself and see if they could squeeze you in. Because they were informal, the interviews really didn't help your chances at all and interviews weren't based off of statistics. Apparently, this year they are actually inviting people to interviews suggesting that they have since gotten rid of that whole informal deal.

This has been discussed over and over again. Creighton is probably the only school out there that does not REQUIRE an interview to be accepted. They do, however, invite students to interview with them formally, OR, you can call them up to schedule and informal/unofficial interview. If you're planning on doing the latter, you should do it soon.

You don't need an interview to be accepted there, but they obviously do send formal invites. Last year I was asked to be in the pool of students who would be selected for the waiting list without an interview. I didn't make the cut, but my point remains.

so they will actually accept a student who does not interview there? how does that work? wouldn't a school want to get to know the student? do you know if they actually accept a decent amount of students this way...or do they accept more through interviews?

I'm a d-4 at creighton--here's what I can tell you. We got a new dean two years ago who decided interviews are more important so they started doing the formal interviews this year, however, they are not required (but I wouldn't refuse one if offered for obvious reasons). As far as I can tell, at this point the interviews are offered to their top tier of applicants as a way to encourage them to come to Creighton, so an interview invite is an extremely positive sign. That being said, we have 80+ students per class, so its very likely that you could still be accepted without an interview. So don't despair.
Also, if I may add, its a very good school and you won't be sorry you came.

In this past year's application cycle, in the first semester they were inviting applicants to come interview and would not take call-ins (correct me if im wrong). However, after x-mas break, that is when you could call in and schedule an interview. However, the 1st wave of acceptances that go out december 1st are meant to fill the class. Then every month after that on the 15th come different wave of acceptances to fill spots that were previously declined. It is not certain when the class is actually full due to people pulling out last minute when they get accepted to their #1 but I think it is safe to say that chances of getting in past feb become very very very slim.

Before Dec 1st, how many do they interview and then subsequently accept on Dec 1st? Also does anyone have any more info about the interview day? The email I received didnt' have information as to where to meet and how long it takes.

i got invited to an interview

So.. is Creighton doing an "informal" interview this year?? Anyone got a phone call fro them?

I haven't heard anything from them yet, but I did call them this past Friday to verify whether or not my application was complete. She told me that she was working on the "section of applications that I was a part of" right now, and wouldn't be done with them until mid-week. So that led me to believe they're going in alphabetical sections somehow for the initial application review. As far as the interview thing goes, I've never heard any of that stuff! So i will be asking them about their interview process when I call them back at the end of this week. If I find anything out, I'll post then.

From everything I read that came with my invite for an interview, I have gathered that during the Fall semester they only do invites for interviews, and spring and summer you can schedule a similar visity on your own.

How does Creighton notify you for an invite? Snail mail?

They notify you by email..so keep checking!!😉

A couple of weeks ago, I received a snail mail from Creighton said that they received my AADSAS application and told me that "... At this time we Have received all items checked below...(Mine was all checked except LOEs)... we will not notify you if your application is incomplete. ..... If you have any questions, pls call......"

Has anyone received this snail mail?

I haven't received anything at all from them. I called them about 3 weeks ago, and then again this past Friday to ask if my app was complete. I will call again probably this Thur or Friday. It sounds from what they wrote in your letter though that they want applicants to call them. I guess maybe that shows them that you care and want to go there.

it makes me mad-all my AADSAS stuff and supplemental for all of my schools was complete on June 14 and submitted or mailed, but it took my professor until JULY 28TH to submit (electronically) my committee letter, which is what all the school want. Unbelievable. And i contacted him about everything in early May. Ahhh. Well, at least all the schools have everything now.

I think they send out interview invites in batches. I was invited in what I think is their first batch because when I called to schedule they gave me the option of scheduling on the first day! When I checked the interview thread several other people got their email on or about the same day I did. I'd say keep checking up on the SDN interview thread and see when others start saying they got Creighton invites.

From what I have heard, only Creighton undergrads can be accepted without a formal interview.
