anyone hear from Howard?

I just got an email saying that you'd be contacted if a supplemental were necessary. ( I dont know what that's supposed to mean --- wouldn't a supp be either yes or no across the board?? )


Theyre pretty frustrating dealing with i think ---
trying to let them know I have a DAT retake coming in has been a pain of a process ; and still not achieved.

i got an email asking me to pay a processing fee

I received the email 7/20 saying they received my aadsas application and for me to pay $75. I was in the first mailing batch.
 
Just got an email today telling me that they got my application and to pay $75 application fee. I am starting to second guess Howard though, I spoke to a dentist who just graduated from Howard this year and he was telling me that Howard was pretty though to get patients to fill out all the requirements and also the school is very underfunded so its under staff which makes things pretty difficult. I don't know, but we shall see what happens.
 
No word from them yet here, I was mailed out in the second batch (7/4)... (Edit: Just got the email today requesting $75 money order)

That is what I have been hearing. I have a brother starting his 4th year over at Howard and he tells me that the administrators are very hard to deal with and a bit unorganized.

So what is everybody's reason for applying to Howard?

I havent heard anything either. I guess they only send supplementary app if they are interested. I hope to hear something soon.
 
Sooooo, it's Oct 3rd and there have been no invites from Howard according to SDN and predents.com

Has anybody heard anything regarding invites? Anybody? LOL 😳

lol SDN is going crazy with interviews. Noope, nothing yet.

I received a Howard invite on 9/21 via e-mail. My file was complete there early august. The date they gave (Oct 7th) conflicted with another interview so they said they would let me know when another interview date becomes available.

I haven't heard anything yet I submitted my stuff since early July...I tried to call but I keep getting the voicemail.....I guess I just need to be patient...

I'm scheduled for Oct 26th (couldn't make the Oct 7th date)
 
How exciting! I will be interviewing on October 26th too. I'm heading out from west coast on October 24th.
 
I interviewed at Howard on Oct 7, there were a good amount of people interviewing. They said the tour / interview would be from 9AM to 2 PM but we were done earlier than that.

they just emailed me this week that my payment was received.... but i sent that in july because their email said you must pay within 10 days of receiving this confirmation..... :scared:

I sent a check (apparently I'm blind and can't read the email they sent me) a month ago and was wondering why they hadn't cashed my check. Turns out, as another predent told me, they only accept money order/certified check. I freaked out and sent that out ASAP. I think Howard just started with interviews and run slower than other schools so could be why?

I'm taking anatomy this semester, can't remember if everyone that interviewed had also taken it
 
DAT scores arent that great. I am actually retaking it in two weeks.
AA 18 TS 18 PAT 21. Bio major from University of the Pacific. They had scheduled my interview for October 29, but I live in California and they give me pretty short notice. I rescheduled for January.

Submitted AADSAS: 6/11
Mailing date of:7/18
I think my app was complete with fee around 9/12.
Invited for interview: 10/18

And V9UCSD, I have already taken anatomy.

Does anyone know the number to the admissions office. I emailed them about a week ago and did not get a reply yet. I have submitted everything since July and still havent heard from them...

Hey guys so i finally decided to join SDN. I had an interview 10/29 and it went really well. There were a lot of people. They said that they were trying to get more interview groups to fill the class earlier this year. Instead of about half full on Dec 1, they want to have a little more than that. (Hence starting the Saturday interviews which I had).

My application was complete 10/12 and I got an email the next day for my interview imvite. I do not have ties with the school but I did call to talk with admissions a few times before and they wanted me to email them so they had my name.

Hey so my stats are pretty low but I'm sure it will help give some people some hope! My cGPA is 3.1 sciGPA is 2.9 DAT AA 17. But I know my letters of Rec were really good and I did SMDEP which I got an award out of. And a lot of volunteer work. I definitely had to make up for my low scores. Plus I was a student athlete and had a lot going on with that.

I'm confused... did you already get an interview or are a dental student at Howard? Are you URM?

No I am not a dental student YET, I just had an interview end of october. and yes I am a URM!
 
I got an interview from them. They wanted me to go interview last weekend but had to tell them no, they contacted me a week in advance and that was too short notice so I pushed it back till January. Howard will be my 10th interview so I am not too gun-ho about it.
 
Guess Howard is out for me! I submitted July and still no invite! *sad face*

Have you called them? I would just to get your name in their head. I always made an excuse to call and its worked so far for me! Good luck!

Hey CONGRATS on your interview. What number are you using to call them because lately when I try to call them the phone is busy or it rings for ever with no message options....

I believe I called the number on the site. 202-806-0440. Is that the number you have been calling? I actually spoke to Mrs. Randall.
 
Does anybody that went to the Howard interview already have any advice on hotels to stay at that are close to the school? I know some other schools offered student rates on nearby hotels, but the email didn't mention anything.

I was calling 202-806-0400 but just keeps ringing....I finally got in contact with someone on Thursday but it wasnt Ms. Randall she had just left her office for the week but ill call again on Monday....Hopefully i get someone....🙁
