from UMDNJ today? They said the committee was going to meet yesterday, the 13th. I realize I probably should have called or written to explain my situation, but I have a $500 deposit due at UNECOM tomorrow, and I'm really counting on hearing from UMDNJ and not having to lose 500 bucks so early in the process if at all possible. I guess I will give them a call tomorrow, but I was just wondering if anyone heard anything today. They usually call, no?

i say call 'em. i had my interview with UMDNJ today and they said that last year they accepted all of their interviewees except 12 or so! once you've gotten the interview, you're good! sooo i say call 'em quick and (hopefully) save yourself the cash!

The UMDNJ Schools' Deans like to call the applicants when accepted so you may have missed Dean Wallace's call. I know PublicEnemy got a call yesterday and was accepted so decisions were definitely made. Have no fear in calling the admissions office the staff is incredible. Lets us know and post on the official UMDNJ-SOM thread over in the Osteopathic forum with the good news.

hey ornis, i got the call from an adcom member yesterday after they met, and i got the official call from Paula Slade this morning.

i was in the same boat as you with the deposit for unecom issue. you should definitely call the admissions office and ask what the deal is. i bet they just weren't able to reach you by phone. ask to speak with paula, she's extremely nice.

Thanks guys. I'll call them first thing in the morning. Congrats to those of you who got the call...I remember Dean Wallace explicitly telling us that only a dozen or so interviewees got rejected last year, and that others had heard by phone promptly, so I've been a bit nervous the last couple days. Anyway, since I'm technically a CT resident who lives in NJ, maybe they called my Connecticut residence or something. We'll find out!

hey i was an august mcat taker, but i did have an earlier score that was above the average as well.

you guys should definitely try to contact the office and see what the deal is. let them know you're still interested, they're big on that.

I'm just assuming that they are going to go on a winter break like any other school, therefore we won't hear until they come back. I think I am going to give them a call once I get my final grades for this semester.

I got the letter today..."acceptable, but not accepted at this time" = waitlist. This process is killing me. Haven't heard a word from 13 allopathic schools, and now waitlisted at my favorite osteopathic school. Killing me.
Anyone know how much movement there is on SOM's waitlist typically? I wonder if I did something wrong in the interview...or maybe it's just a small class size, and I'm an out-of-stater?
