I haven't seen much about anyone applying to or hearing back from UABSO. Is there a reason for this? Has anyone applied and heard back about an interview or acceptance? Thanks!

I received an interview at the beginning of October, but I couldn't make my assigned date so I got pushed back until November.

no response for me yet from them. my app went to optomcas 9/29 and out to the schools 10/8.

i am an out of state applicant and i know that they reserve 50% of their slots for state residents...a possible reason for delay? they want to fill those spots first?

Glad to see a post about UAB! No one on this site ever mentions them. My application went out about the same time as yours, and I had my interview in November. However, I am in-state, and most of the people interviewing that day were in-state too. It's a lot harder to get in from out of state. I am hoping to hear back from them soon. :xf: If anyone else hears anything from them please let us know!!

Hello! I have heard from UAB. I had my intervew about 2 weeks ago, and was accepted this past week. I had an interview with 8 people and most were from out of state. I am an out of state student from Georgia, and they had already given the Georgia grant away.

What does that mean? They cannot accept any other students from GA?

No, a couple (or maybe just one) GA students don't have to pay tuition at UAB.

Someone, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they a little weird about where their students come from?

Hey! No, they can accept more than one student from Georgia, they just have one seat specifically for a Georgia student that only has to pay in state tuition. I was just saying that they had already given that seat away. They had given me an out of state seat. I think they leave half of the seats open for Alabama residents only.
