You can have any stats and apply 🙂

Hey everyone! I just got a letter from Harvard and they accepted me without an interview! This is unreal I can't believe it. Now I'm torn between UCLA and Harvard... where would u go?!?! 😕

What I think Audio meant to say was that the average GPA for someone admitted to Harvard is around a 3.7 and the average DAT scores are around 21 on the academic portion and 19 on the perceptual. Harvard also practically requires research experience, so if you want to have a fighting chance get yourself in a lab before you apply. Best of luck.

Holy mother of God...do you have a relative on the board of trustees? Sleep with a member of the admissions committee? If not would you mind sharing your stats and research experience? If you are being serious here then I am really impressed.

REALLY!!!!

here is what harvard's webiste has to say about it: (copied directly from Harvards website)

Interview: Back to Top

A personal interview is required for admission and is granted by invitation only. Interviews are considered an essential part of the admissions process and provide potential students the opportunity to flesh out their written applications and to fully articulate their background, experiences, knowledge and interest in dentistry. All interviews take place in person at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Regional or telephone interviews are not conducted.

Good try KAP!

I'm still waiting for an interview invite too but chances seem slim now :scared:

Hahah, not that's not me. It's Ali Karimi - of Bayern Munchen fame 😀

My stats aren't shockingly good. 3.71 and 21/21/20. Quite average for Harvard I'd say. I think that they could have picked people who had much higher stats than I did to interview. They really look at your application, your PS, and what you've done in your life. I'm lucky that I've been able to see the world and have a broad background. I could see people with 3.5s even getting in if they have the complete package. That's why it was such an honor to get an interview because they looked at me as more than just a GPA and DAT score.

Oh that's great. I wrote a hit play and directed it, so I'm not sweating it either! 😎

Are there any midgets in this play? That really turns me on 😍

Also, KAP getting into Harvard without an interview is about as likely as him getting laid on prom night...not very 👍

Harvard never takes anyone without an interview. They also do really care about more than your stats. I was the first interview at harvard this year. My GPA is 4.0 and my DAT scores are Academic: 24 Science: 25 Perceptual: 19. I think those are pretty good numbers, I've also done some research (undistinguished), but I got put on the wait list. I got the letter on Dec 10. I think it is safe to say that Harvard is looking for something more than numbers.

Damn, tough luck. Maybe you'll get in off the waitlist. You can't be too far down it! I agree though. If Harvard wanted, they could pick a class with a GPA average of 3.95 and DAT of 24 but they obviously look for something specific. Hope that I fit in to their view of what the ideal student is. 🙂

DAMN! Well, I'm on the wait list (got my letter around Dec 10 too), but with people like bloodygums on it as well, I'm definitely NOT betting on still getting in!

Oh well, if all works out well I'll go to UConn as a DMD/PhD scholar... and yes, if you're wondering, I have NO life (well, except for the occasional Daily Show and/or Colbert Report, that is)!

Thanks for the sympathy. I think Harvard mainly looks at numbers to determine who to interview. After you have your foot in the door, I think they base their final choice on the strenght of your letters, research, and interview. I think I didn't get picked because I'm weak in those areas.

I also got accepted without an interview. In addition, Harvard is offering to cover full tuition, buy me a house, a car and a million dollars of spending money.

i dunno peoples...if you would please look at my :HOward: post, it says that admission criteria require at minimum a 17 on each section of the DAT. HOWEVER, the statistics show an average AA of 15 !!! what is goin on ? please take a look at the howard post and heolp me decide if it is worth the time and money ~~ thanhks.

Howard is not the best dental school, their student stat partly show that.

Study hard for the DAT and do well so that you do not have to go there. (unless you want to)

I just looked at the Howard website, it seems that they WOULD LIKE to have students with 17 or higher on their DAT but the people who end up going there have MUCH lover scores.

This opens a whole new pile of sh** becuase this school focuses on minorities.
