Anyone interviewed, heard from, or been accepted at Wayne State Univ in Michigan? If so, how was the interview structured, etc (anything besides interview feedback u could let me know about?)

Thanks

I interviewed at Wayne State in early October, and won't hear a decision until Nov. 28th. I would say that interviewfeedback.com does a pretty good job of summing up the questions that were asked at the interview...by going through most of the questionnaires that are up, you should be able to find about 90% of the questions you can expect to be asked. It was a very laid back interview, I didn't get any difficult ethics or managed care questions and felt comfortable the entire time (even though it was my first interview).

I know that probably doesn't help you as much as you'd like, so if you have more specific questions, feel free to ask them, or send me a personal message. Good luck!! 🙂

I interviewed at Wayne in late October and, like Sprocket, will hear from them on November 28th.
I'm gonna agree completely with Sprocket's evaluation of the interview. It was straightforward and the vast majority of the questions can be found on interviewfeedback.
The interview is rather long (mine went about an hour and fifteen minutes), but it is indeed relaxed. There were a few weird questions (like what was your high school SAT/ACT?), but most questions seemed very relevant and were directed at personal interests/motivations...I wasn't asked about managed care or about what I would do in certain ethical dilemma's.
There is also a tour/lunch offered after or before the interview, dependent on what time your interview is. Definitely take it!
The students who toured me were extremely friendly and willing to tell me all kinds of stuff about the schools. Plus it's a good opportunity to see some of the very impressive hospitals that Wayne uses for clinical rotations.
Good luck!

Hi all,
I am currently a first year at WSU and I wanted to just warn you about Wayne's acceptance policies. As you know, they are kind of different and have four acceptance dates throughout the whole year. Last year, most kids didn't get in until the last date (I would guess around 50%) and I was one of them. I interviewed on Nov. 15th and got in on May 20something. This sucks, but don't let it discourage you if it happens. That is just how it is.

Good Luck,

thanks for the heads up JimmyBee

I still haven't received their secondary..don't know why? I just need to know what their secondary is like and if there were any essay questions ? thanks

Cookie,

Their secondary consists of several essay questions, divided up into different categories. Basically, you choose one essay from a bunch of essays for each category. There are three categories, which means you gotta choose and complete one essay per category, resulting in three essays. No one ever picks up the phone at Wayne.
