Anyone here a traveler?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Been traveling for past year and a half. Just took the full time position at my last 13 week rotation. Money is excellent, however, sites are not always the Taj Mahal. Worked a 3 week rotation in West Philly and feared for my life on the daily. When you're thrown into a different area/building every couple weeks or months, it forces you to learn how to adapt and continually understand different employee learning styles. I've been to places where the staff ignored me and ate lunch at their own table without inviting me over. Most directors will use you as a mule. Don't let them push you around, they need you more than you need them. I enjoyed it because it made me realize good therapists from bad therapists. I learned what not to be. It's like that summer job you take during college. You do it to make money but you realize the job you're doing is not what you want to do forever. Ever since taking the full time position (I got lucky and got assigned a rotation that is very nice) I really got interested in expanding my career (I.e. studying for GCS and getting vestibular certified). It opens your eyes to what you want to be and deter from being that therapist that 'goes through the motions'. Hope some of that helps.

As a soon to be SPT this is some awesome insight LaSean, thank you!
