anyone here hate lab classes?

dear diary, lol, i just hate lab classes. lectures are no problem for me, i can memorize stuff really well. i just dread going to every lab class. denture lab was awful. i cant polish stuff very well. i hate making temporaries. i just hate all the stuff they make us do that other people will do for us when we are dentists. anyone else out there feel the same way?

I definitely prefer them to lecture classes. Labs are difficult for me, which has me worried about my future as a dentist, but my god, lecture classes just feel incredibly boring and useless sometimes.

Memorize a long list of facts about histology and neuroscience? Yay... like I didn't do that for four years as an undergraduate.

It could get frustrating at times, but on the whole I found it a nice break from the bookworm stuff that I did for more or less the entire previous decade. Especially coming into lab after hours when the place was quiet and empty, working with wax was kinda relaxing 🙂

Oh, and unless you restrict yourself to drill & fill, you'll be making lots of temporaries as a dentist. Might not want to blow off that one

Do this! The lab can get kind of hectic and it is hard to focus on your own work with a bunch of people around. You may find yourself getting frustrated really quick especially if you sit next to people who are already confident in there lab skills. Try to remember also that if you tell yourself you suck at lab stuff or you wont ever have to do it, you will do poorly. Get some confidence, work hard, and you will find yourself getting better and better. For the most part the people who do the best in the lab are those who are confident and calm. keep at er!
