Monday night, there was a segment with a man who brought it some of Elvis Presley's medical records! 😱 It included some chest x-rays, an EKG, and doctor's notes, apparently from a Vegas physician when Elvis performed there, and one Addressograph implied that the chart was from 1976. He claimed to have obtained them from a Dumpster but didn't say where or when, or maybe he did and that was edited out.

Haven't medical records always been destroyed (or supposed to have been, anyway) by burning or shredding? 😕 That someone had an item like this was rather disturbing to me.

BTW, Rick refused to buy them. 😳

Thats awesom! This guy knows everyone.

"Sir thats some interesting underware you have there wore by Stonewall Jackson in the Civil War. The problem I have is there are alot of underware fakers out there. Let me call a buddy of mine who is an expert on cival war underware and have him check it out."

I posted this story on a nursing board, and several nurses and other people said that until recent years, obsolete medical records were usually simply tossed into the regular garbage, along with used syringes and bandages, IV bags with name labels on them, etc.

😱

One of my Facebook friends asked if they smelled like bacon, and I replied, "Only if Chumlee handled them."

Well, HIPAA doesn't apply to dead people and I'm not even sure if it's retroactive. So I totally would have bought them!!

Rick refused to buy them, because he had no idea what their monetary value might be. Elvis' chest x-ray definitely showed an enlarged heart, and an H&P page I was able to see because I paused on my TiVo had him under treatment for a broken ankle.

Honestly, he might have purchased John Entwistle's medical records, being the Who fan that he is, and that Entwistle died in Las Vegas. :whoa:

ive been to the pawn shop. it is nothing like what you think it would be. its small and ran down. i was actually there when they filmed an episode. the guys are nothing like they seem on tv. Cory is a dick. he wouldnt take pictures with anyone or even acknowledge the crowd of fans in the parking lot. in fact he about knocked over an old lady who tried to stop him for a picture. ChumLee on the other hand is awesome! he plays dumb on tv but he is nothing of the sort. i have feelings that he is much smarter than he plays on tv. he is a down to earth normal guy. rick throws a switch when the cameras are on and hams it up. when the cameras are off he is totally different. by the way the "experts" he calls in are already there at the pawn shop. they make it seem like they call the guys in and they show a half a day later or something. i saw no money ever change hands when the "deal" was done. i kinda think the deals were already made and they just reenacted them for the tv show. if you watch the show you probably seen my mug in the background.

When I was in Vegas two months ago I stopped by at night just to see the place. Looking in through the door, yes, it's a whole lot smaller than you think. Everything you've seen on the show is the extent of the showroom. They're supposed to be open 24 hours, but that only goes for the window. And the window wasn't even open when I got there. Oh well, my wife took her unnecessary pictures, and we were off to lose more money somewhere.

That being said, I love the show, and I'll have to catch that Elvis episode sometime.
