So you guys have been talking about In and Out of state applicants. Since I'm an international student, holding F1 visa, would it be even more difficult to apply to Pharmacy school? Plus, I read on some school's websites that they mainly take students in-state for future pharmacists working in their state or nearby area. Even tho i'm an out of state student, I can still work for the states which i apply to, right? So wut do you think about my situation? Any1 in here's on the same boat. Please give me advice... Many thx 🙂

Hello, there. First of all, I am so glad that you and I have the same goal as being a pharmacist. I do not want make you depress, but it will be "VERY" difficult for you to go to a pharm school. Well, it depends on which school you are applying to.. But, I heard that a lot of pharm schools do not care about a strange student as an international student. You might have a little chance to get into a pharm school. But, some private schools accept foreign students who has a high GPA. And they do care money. So, they will charge you tuition much higher than American students. I do not know how your financial situation is going, but it is definetely a big issue. "DO NOT GIVE UP YOUR DREAM." You can overcome all the barriers. I assume that you are the good student in your class, ain't I right? I know some excellent international students who would study in pharms, but they gave up becuase they were not an U.S citizen or a permernant resident. In my case, I am disappointed the U.S pharms because my ideal school such as University of Florida will not give a chance an international student to study there. All schools in Florida have changed the rules, which are huge disadventages for foreign students. How about you? Do they accept a stranger? I guess yes, but not enough. I want to know how international students try to make their dreams real. I applaud all of foreign student who are studying in health field.
Here is my opinion. The states apply to pahrms cross over in the nation.
1) an execellent GPA ------> more than 3.5, less than 3.5 is pessimistic
2) a good PCAT score ------> you need to earn it more than 80 % all of the section in the test. Do not worry about TOFEL....
3) Fluent English both speak and write... I guess you are O.K
4) Having numerous extra experiences such as working at a pharmacy store or a hospital.
5) pray to the God to get an interview.
Sorry for a long comment, but I hope you will get through your goal. Good luck to you..
P.S. if you are interesting in my thread, please feel free and e-mail me. I wonder where you are from. Me? I come from South Korea. Thank you for reading my thread.

Yea, I know... abt financial prob, i do know that i'll be charged sky-high tuition fee. here, at UH I pay 4 times as much as other students.
I already got my Toefl ( 650 paper-based or 110 iBT) and also my GPA is 3.8, PCAT>80% ( but verbal and reading is REALLY LOW) Wow... I'm kinda sad learning my chances get smaller and smaller day by day... but as u said, I'll not give up. Thanks so much for the support 🙂 I'm from Vietnam btw, hey... I have sm friends from Korea... U know that lots of viet ppl luv korean drama rite? 😉 👍

To the TC, yes I'm international (F1 visa) student. I think my status is worse than urs since I don't hold any Bachelor degree <.<;;

Hi international students!I'm also an international student with an F-1 visa, I was just curious where you guys were applying?I'm trying to apply mostly to private schools, but i'm kinda scared now with my PCAT verbal score--bad bad bad and I just got rejected from Shenandoah for low PCAT english score!
