Just want to know if I should focus all of my studying around Qbank and Memorizing first aid. Any feedback would be great.
THanks

Maybe the two you just mentioned, and BRS Path and BRS physio? I've heard those are key. Like, if you're not shooting for a ridiculous score, or if you're low on time... I would think QBank, FA, and the two I mentioned would be somewhat solid.

Thanks,
Time really isnt the issue. I have three months. My thing is that I would like to minimize the amount of resources so that I can repeat the material as much as possible. Especially Q bank.

Thanks again for the tips!

Your idea is the mother of ******ed. With all due respect.

Dude you have three months. That's more than enough time to go through qbank a couple times, do FA, and get some other sources to add some depth. That's what I would do, because I would want to, you know, score high.

Instead of insults just tell me what sources...I would appreciate that way more than the "Mother of ******ed"LOL...

So I can, you know, score high...

I've only looked at a couple of QBank questions so I can't comment on it authoritatively but it seems like a bad idea.

One of the benefits of a large question set is that it allows you to identify specific areas of knowledge in which you are deficient. Once that is identified, you can go back and study both the individual pieces of information you missed as well as related information in that domain.

Although I'm sure QBank covers almost all of the "high yield" pearls, I don't see how it can substitute for broad and somewhat in-depth understanding of the basic science disciplines. If you have 3 months, I would recommend reinforcing that understanding before you use QBank to practice its application to USMLE-style questions.

Since u got 3 months, use some other questions and resources. Save Qbank until the last few weeks and keep doing 50 question sets. Some people may knock Qbank, but it's one of the best resources...............explanations are good.

They're mentioned ad nauseum on this board. The BRS books, Kaplan, I also hear that Goljan dude is pretty smart.

I apologize for coming down too hard on you. If you look at this board enough, eventually you'll get a feel for what works for the most people. For example, I did Intense Prep because I lack the discipline to focus on something for a whole 8 hours a day on my own.

If you were only going to use one source, Qbank is the way to go. But with 3 months, you should absolutely do more to prepare.

No worries,
I appreciate the apology. I just want to study the right material. I plan on using BRS Path and Physio, The latest notes that Goljan gives to his kaplan students,First aid, some of the kaplan books, and Q bank throughout. I have heard that if you can get through Q bank twice your pretty much solid for the exam.

But good luck to everyone!
Thanks again

Don't think there is a magic formula. Just use the books you've been using and be diligent.

Those are good resources...and you don't need 3 months to prepare. I think a month or two should be enough. You can take a look at some websites online that disucss schedules and stuff like that....they usually have a list of good books also. Check the sticky on this board "USMLE guides" and the sticky about the schedules. But don't just stick to those two resources, they don't have everything you need (although they are excellent resources). Also http://www.gotmedbooks.com has one, the link is on the front page.

Good luck,
