i looked on the interview thread but it doesnt look like a) too many people have heard from loyola or b) those who have interviews have posted them on the thread -- just wondering if anyone knows how far out they are booking...? thanks!

I called them, and they are set to re-evaluate on a later date, HOWEVER, the secretary, who was really nice, said that I can call at any time to see if I could schedule an interview if I'll be in town 🙂

on another note...did you call the admissions office to find out your status? i figured it was still a bit early to call, based on how late loyola begins interviewing...i want to call, since its my top choice school, but don't want to call too early.

Well, my interview feedback never made it on to the interview feedback thread. Not sure if I messed up the entry, or if they are just slow to look through before posting it.

I interviewed 4 Oct, and am waiting on a decision now.

And yes, the secretary in the admissions office is very helpful. I'd recommend calling and asking her.

yeah -- im in a similar boat, i would LOVE to go to loyola [left foot..... first born.... whatever.... haha] and ill be in chicago for another interview in early december and i was kind of nervous about calling. i called a few weeks ago and i hadnt been reviewed yet so i dont know if its premature to call again..... but if i had the chance to interview there i would change the other one to accomodate them

I interviewed October 13th and they told me they would decide on the 18th and send me a decision by snail mail on the 19th. So im hoping it will be in the mail either today or tommorow.

I'm under the impression that they are going prettttty slow. My "due date" for my secondary was the 3rd of September and I JUST got confirmation from them (snail mail) that my file was complete.

Same boat for me. Just called and got the same message. Oh, and they said that Thursdays are the days we are supposed to call, but they told me anyway. The nice lady in the admissions office said that it wouldn't hurt to send a letter of continued interest to the school, but she didn't say if it'd help. Anyway, I don't know how to feel about having been reviewed and put on the 'further review' pile....did that happen to people who got interviewed and accpted in the past? or does that mean they just don't have the heart to officially waitlist us yet?

We have had a steady stream of interviewees at Loyola already, but I haven't seen more than four on any given day. Loyola typically has a very long interview season and continues to interview for alternate spots even after they have filled their class. Last year they filled their class at the end of January and I hear that about 11% of the folks who were accepted came off the alternate list. The year before about a third of the class came off the alternate list, but I think the school is getting more popular so there is a higher matriculation rate.

All these stats aside, don't stress out if you're still under review. You still have plenty of time and your chances of acceptance will not diminish until they start the alternate list. If you're on hold, send update letters.

i was told by 'chuck deli', one of last year's applicants who's attending loyola now that loyola will review your application 3 times and you can be offered an interview from any of those 3 looks. after that....well, let's not think about that. but you can get an interview from any of the 3 looks and i guess they say you are awaiting further review or whatever until after the 3rd look. anyway, that's just what he told me. good luck everyone. my fingers are still crossed.

They called to offer me the interview, and asked what was the earliest date I could possibly make it. I told them I could be there in a week, and they booked me. I was fairly surprised that they still had spots open in October, considering they called me only a few days ago.
