I am going to have one year to kill between the end of my premed classes and the start of med school. Ideally, I would like to get into a one years masters program mostly for anatomy but also maybe some phys. Any suggestions ?

i suggest doing something significantly more enjoyable than memorizing anatomy during your last year of freedom.

Case Western had a one year MS in Applied Anatomy. I don't know if it's still around

Anatomy prof of mine had an MS in anatomy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Case still has it. But if you'd rather do something else with your time/money, you can do it for free during the four years of med school at Case.

Tulane has a Anatomy Certification Program, but I think it's only for people who were waitlisted at a US med school this year...you mite want to check it out for kicks...

Boston University's Sargent College has a masters in applied anatomy and also University of Rochester has a masters program in anatomy and physiology.

doing a quick google search, penn state, indiana university, university of south florida, medical college of virginia, kansas state university, university of mississippi, and loma linda. most master's programs are two years, though.

if you only have a year, i would recommend americorps. you can work with almost any non-profit, including clinics, anywhere in the united states. it's a good way to boost your community outreach experience while getting scholarship money in the process. of course i am biased. 😀
